Louis' style of cooking is fantastic and the menu changes to what he can get fresh. The menu is varied and everything is tasty and designed to share. The staff are very knowledgeable about their wines, which are varied and can be from unusual places. Bookings are highly recommended. See less

Overall an excellent experience with good service and a creative and fun cuisine. We sat downstairs which is not the best vibe: loud because there was a group of 8 around us and also it’s a cellar without a great atmosphere. It was fun regardless The feed me menu made no sense: it’s not about specific dishes but about number of dishes. This was really disappointing because we wanted to see what the chef would prep for us. It was fun but feels like they are yet to find their groove. See less

One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Canberra. Food was beautiful and creative. It was evident how much work and thinking had gone into every plate. Service was warm and personal, the people who work at Onzieme know how to do hospitality. The venue reminded me of a restaurant I visited in Lisbon. Like the food, the interior design displays intentionality and character. If you too are searching for a European escape whilst your travel plans are adjourned by quarantine requirements and border closures, visit Onzieme. See less

A national crime to not visit this place. Our waitress Daisy was fantastic and the food felt like it only took 5 mins or less to come out between meals. Although we originally sat outside and it was chilly, the halloumi dish set the stage for an otherwise perfect night. We're really happy to have visited this restaurant whilst we visited Canberra. We would recommend heaters or blankets outside for guests in future and we'll endlessly recommend this venue to all our family and friends. We won't forget you Onzieme, thank you for being so good to us. See less

Definitely worth repeated visits, dishes are all ala carte, and there's a lot of variety. Some clever combinations, and some rare things I had to google, which isn't a bad thing; it shows flair from the chef. Particular shout-out to server Ella who was very helpful and enthusiastic, and sold the whole experience perfectly. My one criticism would be perhaps they need a more accessible way of seeing the menu but perhaps this is on the cards soon. Would definitely recommend, especially if you're in the mood for something special and unique. See less

Not worth the wait in the arrogant basement! Don’t book in the basement! I booked Onzieme over a month in advance for two people and specifically asked for upstairs not in the basement! The booking was 8:30 as that is when they could fit us in. We waited for a month and we didn’t snack before our booking. But because I only booked for two people Onzieme prioritised other bookings in front of us and put us in the basement knowing I specifically wanted a booking not in the basement. It was a special occasion. When We politely advised the Arrogant Maître D of the breakdown in communication with the booking, 20 minutes later we were advised that it was bad luck as they had seated other other people who came in after us now! Arrogant Maître D suggested we could book another night-the special occasion was that night! This arrogance was advised at 8:50! Well Onzieme first impression are important and you can’t get your booking’s correct so we are not willing to trust their ability to provide a nice meal on a special occasion. At 8:50 we left the basement of Onzieme and had a fabulous meal and good service else where! We had good luck as we didn’t eat Arrogant Onzieme! Arrogance leaves a bad taste in your mouth so avoid this place. See less

Arrogant and pretentious We were seated for dinner in the basement which is smelly and airless. It masquerades as some kind of trendy speakeasy bar, which sadly it is not. We never got to try the meal because we left after encountering rude and arrogant customer service. Not a restaurant for vegans. Despite saying they can prepare a vegan menu with notice, we were told on the night the chef would ‘just adjust the menu and arrange something’. When we asked what this might be we were told you will just get what you are given and that is the way they do things. Makes you wonder if they are there to serve the customer, or their own egos. Too smart by half. We had high hopes for this place. Be careful buying in to all the in-house marketing hype. The emperor has no clothes! See less
