I had previously rated Oshima 5 stars, but unfortunately after last night, I had to change my rating to 1 star. Starting with a limit of 6 items per order ?! This to me is a total joke. ‘All you can eat’ is absolutely just that, but we couldn’t eat. We ordered 6 things then 30 minutes later the waitress came back for another order, of again 6 Items, of which 2 of the items came 40’mins later. We had 6 at a table, that’s one sushi platter of 6 Bits of sushi per person. With a 20-30 minute wait between us Ordering again. Just a shambles of a set up, and with okami so close, who has 0 limits on how much you can order, we’ll just go there. The waitress was rude, non patient and abrupt. 1 waitress for the whole restaurant too is stupid. We couldn’t get her attention and when we did the food was delayed. All 6 left hungry, annoyed and ripped off. Save your money and go to okami, they have more servers, no limits on food ordered at a true ‘all you can eat restaurant’. See less

If I could give zero stars I would. After reading so many great reviews, I was excited to take my family here for a buffet dinner. We were soon disappointed when we were served burnt chicken, over cooked pork, inedible chewy beef, seafood stick sushi and mediocre and tasteless fried rice. None of our meals looked like the photos on the menu. After charging us $120 (2 adults, 2 kids) we left feeling ripped off and still hungry. This probably is the WORST restaurant I've taste in Melbourne and It's the WORST so called 'Japanese' restaurant I ever tried all over the world. I'm looking for a review from a Japanese customer about this food but unfortunately I can't see any endorsement from real Japanese customer. Except a few Local Guides in the reviews, all others neither without avatar or only do rating or review only, nothing else with their Google account. I hope those customer love you so much even happy to write those review for registering a new account only for making this review. Btw, this is also the worst 4+ start restaurant I've tried, I do strongly doubt the reviews are come from bots. This is so bad experience so I would like to leave a official review here to warning people not wasting money and time here. See less

I am lucky enough to live around the corner from this restaurant and have been a regular take away customer and have never been dissatisfied….( have had weight loss surgery so can’t do all you can eat ) everything has been amazing even my fussy kids have enjoyed the food also large portions , Highly recommended !!! Lovely Sunday night Japanese feast with the family at Oshima Mornington. Poppy was our attendant and although the restaurant was at capacity and the fact she had a large section to take care of we didn’t ever have to wait for service or our food to be served. First time I've tried an all you can eat Japanese restaurant! What a treat :) although it was busy, the service was very friendly and the food came out quickly. The food was all very tasty - our favourites were the chicken katsu and beef terriyaki! Highly recommend supporting this new business! See less
