My partner and I booked here on a Monday. Knowing that it was a busy place, we wanted to go when it would be quieter. Or so we thought. The restaurant is cramped and extremely loud. I couldn't even hear myself basically yelling across the table.
The food started off good, after what seemed like a long wait, with the falafel dish (image below). The falafel were decent in texture, a little dry, but they tasted very nice, especially with the hummus and pomegranate molasses dressing, though the hummus was a bit acidic.
Next up was the lamb, hummus again served with it. My partner and I love cooking and have a bit of a focus on middle eastern/Mediterranean, so of course we eat a lot of hummus, but this hummus was just quite acidic. We both had raw, burnt mouths from how sharp it was, and we left feeling like we had tonsillitis.
Not thinking the serving sizes would be very large, we ordered two mains for sharing. Unfortunately we chose the Asian beef with lime curry. It sounded like it was going to be the best thing there but....let's just say it wasn't. The beef was extremely tough. Also the lime curry part was so spicy that I was sweating like I was in Cairns. Just because it's a curry doesn't mean it needs to be so spicy that the only sensation you have is burning, to the point there is no flavour.
Overall disappointed, having heard that this restaurant was one of the best Adelaide has to offer. See less
