the service is cute. i had the duck vermicelli soup with bamboo and duck blood curd, the taste was so-so. wouldn’t say it was terrible but it wasn’t that yummy either, which was a bit of a shame seeing as i had been looking forward to trying this place out with my mum, who had the broken rice with pork chop. she said the flavour was yummy but the pork chop was tough, she still ate it though. the served us complimentary warm black rice dessert thingy which was quite yummy. they were consistently busy during the lunch hour yet still pretty fast with the service and food. they forgot my blood curd but it came super quick as soon as i mentioned it to a server. i probably should’ve had the bun bo hue or something as that’s likely to have more flavour! probably won’t be trying it though, sadly, as mum has said she won’t be returning here. Warning as this will be long! I went to this restaurant with another friend just the other day. To start off, not all the staff had masks on. We did not think much of it and just sat down anyway as restrictions had eased by then. However, the real issue started when I ordered food. I am a pescatarian and so I do not eat meats such as chicken. Looking at the menu, number 57, a special fried rice with prawn, chicken and fish cakes, appealed to me so I asked for there to be "no chicken." He said it was fine and proceeded to mumble my order back to me as, "no chicken....prawn and fish cake." It sounded to me like he was just going to take everything out so I added quickly, "seafood is ok!" The order seemed to go smoothly after that. We received food and drinks, ate and chatted. Come payment time, there was the issue that they only take cash (which was a tiny sign posted at the cash register, not in an easy place to see when you first walk in). So I waited as my friend ran downstairs to an ATM. As I was waiting around, I saw a typical dessert being handed out to most, if not all the customers. I dismissed it as an addition to their meals. In the meantime, I also checked the menu to calculate the total, which was $19.5 from the menu. My friend returned after waiting in a long line and then they told us our total was $22.5! "Excuse me, why is it more expensive?!" They responded, "because you wanted more seafood. That is extra $3." We had a looong discussion about how I never said to swap the chicken for seafood. Not only that, but they said swapping the chicken for "seafood", meant that they added scallops and squid, which I did not taste at all in our dish! We just had a few tiny prawns, fish cakes and salted fish. If I had squid, I would have been able to tell from the texture. To make things worse, the lady argued that we were given dessert for free! My friend and I never got the dessert, which I told her. "It doesn't matter because we don't charge for that anyway!" In the end, we had to give in with giving $20. You might think that 50 cents is not a lot and it isn't, but for their poor service, lack of communication skills, not getting everything they promised, all the wasted time and even needing to line up to get cash, they did not deserve it. Too bad they told us "you are wasting my time!" AFTER we already handed her the money. Wish we had the exact amount of $19.5 to hand over so we did not have to "waste her time". See less

Had takeaway from this place. We ordered the broken rice which had a nice flavour meat which was slightly sweet. A generous among of pork and rice. Flavour is decent and good for a quick take out See less

The noodle soup I had here was great with nice umami to it's broth. The soup was perfectly salted and has good mix of noodles and meat. The veggies also weren't over boiled. See less

One of the best noodle places in Springvale, if you feel like noodles this is the restaurant to go to, the noodle menu is very diverse. The curry noodle is my recommendation to try, very flavoursome and hearty. Their dry noodle is also very good, havent had a bad meal here yet. They also gave complimentary soup and dessert at the end which was a nice gesture. See less

Visited for the first time today. We have been shopping at Springvale for years and had always seen this restaurant here. Never tried it until today. Not a Vietnamese restaurant so had not eaten here whilst in Springvale but decided to give it go today. Chinese Noodle House with a variety of dishes. Had Vietnamese pho and soft shell crab rice. Both were decent. Came with complementary soup and dessert. See less

Phu Linh has been one of the best lunch spots in Springvale for over a decade. Although they are slightly price than your average place, the food is delicious and they do have items that many places do not. Ordered the goat curry on rice, which was perfect for winter. Number 54 on the menu is definitely a winner, especially if you're hungry. Must visit See less

Classic but clean hole-in-the-wall restaurant, the broth flavours in the egg noodle soup was understated & pleasant enough. Prawn and bean curd vermicelli noodles had a good texture. Will be back to try other dishes, the other half was pleasantly surprised. See less
