It was our first time at the Polit. We arrived and thought the ambience was charming and quaint; at first it seemed elegant. It was a Sat night. I was turned off however, to start, by a woman who looked like she was selling herself instead of tickets to check us in for the "old fashioned" songs and entertainment. Tickets we'd paid for ahead of time. Then the menu on the blackboard had distasteful, crass names to the drinks that didn't match the upscale bar we'd thought it to be. Then the entertainment was terrible, again, rife with sexual, off-color humor. (I realize the entertainment was separate to Polit bar, but hey, they hosted it). We left half way through and wished we could get a refund.
I found the Polit Bar overpriced, marketed to vulgar-minded people and not the place for a husband and wife to have a relaxing evening date and unwind from the week. We won't return. See less
