We went there on Wednesday night (10 July) to find the door firmly locked and no signs of life. I guess Polit is no longer in business? It would have been appreciated if they had put up a sign to advise potential customers. See less

It was our first time at the Polit. We arrived and thought the ambience was charming and quaint; at first it seemed elegant. It was a Sat night. I was turned off however, to start, by a woman who looked like she was selling herself instead of tickets to check us in for the "old fashioned" songs and entertainment. Tickets we'd paid for ahead of time. Then the menu on the blackboard had distasteful, crass names to the drinks that didn't match the upscale bar we'd thought it to be. Then the entertainment was terrible, again, rife with sexual, off-color humor. (I realize the entertainment was separate to Polit bar, but hey, they hosted it). We left half way through and wished we could get a refund. I found the Polit Bar overpriced, marketed to vulgar-minded people and not the place for a husband and wife to have a relaxing evening date and unwind from the week. We won't return. See less

Love the atmosphere and the friendly staff, been to quite a few events here now and always felt well like they've done an amazing job. Great variety in spirits, cocktails & beers. If you're looking for somewhere to go, come check this place out. See less

Amazing space and a great range of drinks. Went there for a function and the food was outstanding. Would definitely recommend it for a small to medium gathering of people. The drag queen that works there, is interesting... a bit rough, but fun. See less

A cocktail bar with an amusingly themed collection of political gimmick cocktails. Very expensive and not sure they could deliver against the expectations set by the price. Very small/hole in the wall with a cool vibe though. See less

Great little bar for quiet drinks with friends or for a big group. They have an amazing selection of spirits as well as an impressive list of classic and modern cocktails.
