Coming from an Italian background, and growing up in SA, the go-to for Italian food (namely; pasta) has been mostly fast food based with other restaurants, even Italian restaurants, diluting their cuisine with other stuff.
This place is different. The chef evidently cares a great deal about the food, when I was served at 5pm in the evening he had just come out the kitchen with flour on his apron from making a fresh batch of his homemade gnocchi (which is better than my Auntie Rosas).
The quality of ingredients is second to none, you can actually taste the tomatoes in the sauce, and the parsley gives it a wonderful freshness, pair that with their chilli oil made with fresh chillies and some peccorrino or parmigianno reggiano and you've got a well portioned plateful (bowlful) of heaven.
The ariancini balls were out of this world, it wasn't full of mozzarella like most other places, where it overpowers the entire ball, nor was it just rice being a plain dry mouth full. It was the perfect balance of perfectly cooked aborio, with the perfect ratio of delicious mozzarella, and the mushrooms added that nice texture and slight juiceness that just complemented the entire dish.
I literally cannot recommend this place enough. The service was impeccable, the chef has a genuine desire to deliver the highest quality Italian cuisine Adelaide has to offer.
