With several children in tow, my husband and I headed to Rafferty's as we do on special occasions - not because the food is exceptional... It is a pub. Decent servings, respectable pricing, tastier than most other pub bistros may offer but no... Our motivation behind always choosing Rafferty's is the play area for the kids. It is over two levels and consists of things that bounce and slide and keep those noisy little people occupied happily so you can have that rare moment to converse without the constant interruptions. (Simply check on your kids via the screens dotted around the eating areas). Speaking of children, if they're also your motivating factor in determining where to dine out - a Tuesday evening meal there will afford you one free kids meal with every adults meal ordered. Just check that on booking. The place is quite clean - my only criticism is that the wait staff are quick to clear tables. Too quick and it can feel as though you're being rushed at times but, they respond well to a 'I'll tell you when I want the table cleared - please leave it all for now, thank you very much'. We will all be back, again and again. See less
