REVIEW FROM 1st Feb 2021.
Well well well, last Monday the MNCC Adelaide chapter officially kicked off 2021... and what a curry 💣 it was. The GANESH CHATURTHI festival of 2020 was back in August, but there was no hint of this tremendous festival ever ending with the VIBES that were dished up at Rasooi - The Traditional Indian Kitchen.
Located in Prospect, customers can expect to be greeted with warm smiles mixed in with some melodic, electronic beatz to get the ticker going on arrival. This type of greeting immediately inundated the MNCC with memories of the wild Tharangambadi beach curry parties that we miss dearly. Ganesh would highly approve of such a welcome.
Rasooi prides itself on being traditional, and therefore holds the same values as we, the MNCC. The curries that were served were exceptional. As were the velvety naan’s. A full flavoured experience that hit different to the usual ‘safe curry house’ that we have become all too familiar with. The only let down was on the spice front. We wanted Xtra Xtra hot and got nothing but mild, weak on heat flavour sensations. Rendering the salty lassi’s surplus to requirement.
Our new nom Patrick was unable to make this meeting, which is quite unfortunate for him as he missed an easy ‘in’ to the club, and will now be punished next meet accordingly.
Our latest nom Dom has been given his chance to make it into this prestigious club. Will he pass with flying colours, or bottle it just like Patrick did on Monday? We’ll have to wait and see.
Overall, 2021 couldn’t have gotten off to a better start for the MNCC. Rasooi provided the perfect thali full of delicious food. The knowledgeable and educational service from the A grade staff was what made this dining experience so special. This high level of service was epitomised in the grand tour of the restaurant, which included the curry jacuzzi, post meal.
This one will be a tough one to beat.
