The roast chicken used to be very good. Unfortunately the quality has recently taken a turn for the worse. We found the charcoal roast chicken greasy and unpalatable. I would not recommend this shop to anyone else. See less

Have always found this take away one of the best in Canberra. I usually get the pasta carbonara or cream potatoes and I have noticed over the past few months that they are flavourless and not as nice as they use to be. Also most of the long serving friendly staff/family seem to have left which has made a difference in relation to service. See less

Pretty good food, but the service. OMG. Many many staff behind the counter, yet people trying to order get ignored. Once you do order, rarely are tickets given, so it’s a mystery if yours is done. Yes, you have to spot it in the warmer and suggest to the staff that it might be yours. EFTPOS rarely works, looks like their machine is very old. Tight owner wouldn’t consider an upgrade it seems. Get some system, some new tech and could probably halve the staff. I shan’t return. See less

It's great for variety, their Chicken gravy rolls are amazingly yum, but $17 for two! Hot chips are average taste wise, and I've had off prawns in the last two seafood salads I bought 🤷‍♀️. See less

I ventured north to Charnwood on the advice of a friend to try the potato scallops from the Regal Charcoal Chicken shop. I was told to ask for freshly cooked potato scallops rather than getting them from the warming cabinet. I asked for two potato scallops and two prawn cutlets. The potato scallops were really nice. The potato was fluffy but not overcooked. The batter was crispy and not too oily. Noe was the batter too salty. The prawn cutlets were also nicely crumbed and cooked. I'll be going back for more. I may try a battered sav next time. See less
