We go to this restaurant regularly because the food is nice but today the servers crossed the line. They have never been very friendly and we always have to wait a while to get their attention. When I made the reservation for today they said it was from 7.45 until closing which I assumed was 10pm. However, at 9.30 while we were still having our dessert and wine, we were told by 2 separate servers that they were closing. There were 4 tables that were still eating at the time and we were asked to leave. We tried to finish our dessert and wine as soon as possible but 5 minutes later one of the servers came back again and informed us that the restaurant was closed. The servers then basically forced us to leave and it wasn’t even 10pm. Even though the food is delicious, I think we will find another restaurant that’s more accomodating. See less

Awesome place. Went with friends dn ordered the fried barramundi and sweet chilli sauce. The fish was fried well and crsipy upon tabling. The aromatic green curry was inviting bite after bite accompanied with steam rice. The lamb curry was a favourite amongst friends and family. Been a while since we had prawn crackers as a starter snack. We intend to book again once lockdown is over and invite more friends to enjoy the tasty dishes served at this relaxing ambient restaurant. We are Chinese-Vietnamese and we love Thai cuisine. This place does everything very well. Service is impeccable. Keep up the good work guys! See less

We usually get take away but decided to eat in last night. Will be doing that more. The staff are lovely and the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. The kids had beef fried rice and roti bread, I had the Seaford curry while my husband had a noodle dish from the chefs specials. All meals were delicious and there was heaps of it. I was able to take home our leftovers and we ate them today for lunch. We're massive fans of The River Kwai! See less

I am absolutely blown away! The Burmese potato and chicken curry was tender, flavourful and exceptionally fresh. The quality is what every resteraunt should strive for, I am beyond pleased with my first experience here. I look forward to trying other dishes! Thank you all. See less

I have been going to River Kwai for over 15 years. It is still one of my favourite restaurants. The quality of food is so high, and the family that own this business are full of love and sincerity. My favourite dishes on the menu are the Burmese Lamb Curry and the Burmese Chicken & Potato Curry... They also do a really good Green Curry! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for great thai food. See less

Great service and food. You'd want to stay at least 90 mins to enjoy the food. We walked in without a booking and the staff managed to squeeze us in for an hour's sitting. The experience felt smooth and efficient. Definitely an instant favourite. See less
