Disgusting food! 3 days expired food! Lier manager! So embarrassing for representing Persian food! At least Iranian people knows what is the difference between saffron and turmeric! Never ever will step in to that disgraceful restaurant! The manager came and lied in front of our face saying all foods are fresh and made today! You can see how quiet is the restaurant! This place is truly unique. I believe the owner couple used to trade in antiques, then converted most of the store to a restaurant. It has a sort of quaint elegant charm to it. The Persian food is delicious with pretty generous servings. The eggplant dip and bread really stand out for a great entree, and I love the saffron rosewater icecream here. If you wander “next door” to their little Persian grocer you’ll also find a charming collection of antique paintings, furniture, decor and more for sale. As a lover of vintage charm and antiques, it was a feast for my eyes and the perfect place to meander in after a filling meal in the main restaurant. Needless to say, I did walk out with a painting and a gorgeous marble statue made in Italy. The owner even kindly revarnished some parts of the painting frame for me to take it home. It is always a pleasure to dine here and be invited into the owners’ fascinating lives and endeavours. See less

We visited all the way from Melbourne. Friends suggested saffron room. Nice little Persian restaurant. Great Persian vibes and they have furniture on sale which is quite artistic. The food was really good! Chullo kebab, kubideh was great and the ice cream was the best and a must try! See less

A restaurant’s Google reviews is not just about the food and customer service is as important. Business owners should try to maintain their profile up to date. If there is any changes in the operating hours, it should be reflected here as well as a simple notice on the shop’s door. On 29 Dec, the Google map showed the shop is open and we drove all the way from CBD to have a good Persian dinner and surprisingly the restaurant was closed for the holiday! Very disappointing. What a magnificent find. We ended up finishing some work in Gungahlin at about 8.30 pm. While waiting for the others I had walked around to check the local restaurants and Saffron Room was the one that was consistently busy. They close at 9 pm. We walked in (now 8.40 pm) and asked if they could fit us in. Fortunately they were happy to. Magnificent dinner. Simple chicken pieces with rice and a couple of salads, but the service was good and the flavours magnificent. It was a great dinner. It is actually a shame we will not be there again, because I would make sure we went back for dinner. We also took home some nice little sweets for after. It was great. The only small negative is that it was a little noisy. Largely because a large group were there thoroughly enjoying the food and food company. I guess that is an occupational risk when you visit a restaurant with such good food. Happy to recommend them. See less

The best persian restaurant in Australia. My mum used to tell me when I bite my tongue accidentally while I am eating "it's because the food is yummy!" And I did tonight. Good quality food, clean and unique atmosphere this restaurant deserves extra 5 stars. See less

Awesome food (quantity and tastiness), great place and service and one of the best rare customer services you can find in Canberra city! Prices are high a lil bit but at least they provide delicious food + more than enough quantity for the average person. Highly recommended for everyone. See less

Sooooo good and definitely worth the drive. The service was amazing and the woman running the place is so cute. The food took a while to come out but it was worth it because it was so delicious. Will be going there often. Came here again with my family. The food was delicious the second time as well. It didn't take that long to come out. It's also extremely well-priced for the quality of food you are getting. See less
