Such a lovely place. Ali is super nice and friendly, and he showed us around the shop. He makes beautiful Moroccan tiles, fountains and many more customised furnitures. What a great experience. Will definitely book in advance for meal next time. See less

Excellent food. We were surprised by the menu as chef had created his own, to serve us. Chicken and lamb were succulent. See less

We had a great dining experience at this place. We booked for a group of 4 and luckily on that day there were no other bookings. This meant full attention by the chef Ali. The food was delicious - Chicken Pastry Puff, carrot and apple juice, tasty lamb and mint & honey water along with Khouskhous. You couldn't ask for anything better. Since it is based on bookings only, make sure that you let Ali know your preferences before hand. Also, don't miss the Moroccan artifacts that he sells and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended See less

Expect the unexpected when you dine at the Sahara Moroccan Casbah. Upon arrival, my small group was warmly welcomed by Owner Chef Ali and offered a sprinkle of delicately scented rosewater on our hands, as is customary in Morocco. Our 4 course banquet of lightly spiced lentil soup, freshly prepared apple and carrot juice, chicken pastilla, khobz, salad, braised beans and lamb tagine with prunes and whole almonds, that was both hearty and generous, had been prepared just for us! The mint tea was ever so lightly sweetened and completed the meal perfectly. The atmosphere was intimate and Ali’s hospitality warm and generous. As the menu type is banquet and prepared especially for you, phone Ali to discuss your food preferences, any dietary requirements and beverage options at least 24 hours beforehand. Oh, and you must check out the function area at the back of the shop/restaurant that has been lovingly refurbished by Ali. It has to be seen to be believed! See less

The Sahara Moroccan Casbah provides an intimate and private setting to have a share a meal with someone while having an authentic and unique experience. Ali, the shop owner, is a lovely gentleman with a warm smile who brings out the fresh food cooked by his incredibly talented wife. There's no menu - just let Ali know when you'd like to drop by, and if that fits his schedule, he'll warmly welcome you to his shop and bring out the food cooked fresh for you that day. We were the only ones in his beautiful antique shop littered with gorgeous items from Morocco, which made the experience even more intimate. I would definitely come again the next time I want to fill my self up with delicious, fresh and authentic Moroccan food while having an intimate dining experience with a loved one. See less

Such an amazing atmosphere! Feels like I’ve had a small (and much needed) getaway to Morocco. The food was incredible, the soup was so hearty and the stuffed pastry was an explosion of incredible flavours. Ali is lovely host also. See less

Outstanding. Fabulous hidden restaurant. It was a set four courses and it all felt like I was eating true home style Moroccan. It was exciting as each course was a surprise. The price was very reasonable. Good for parking too as it away from the main restaurant strip. See less

What a lovely place. I like to discover Adelaide hidden gems and this one is definitely on my list. I happened to be in this street to catch up with a friend and we were looking for a place to enjoy tea. I passed by Sahara Moroccan Casbah and the store window caught my eyes, it is so welcoming, charming and unique, it is like suddenly you were traveling to Morocco. We were greeted with a big smile by the owner who started to speak French to me as he noticed my accent. We wanted to sit outside to enjoy the beautiful sun and he immediately put a table and 2 chairs for us. We enjoyed a traditional Moroccan mint tea and it was just lovely to spend time here chatting. This place is also a restaurant and serves couscous as well as traditional Moroccan dishes and pastries, so definitely something we will try when we come back :) See less

A massive amount of work goes towards this food and it shows. Flavour is rich, textures crisp and soft, colours brilliant... I ate too much and got the rest takeaway. I decided to eat in the nice street mini garden since the imported furniture reacts with my allergies. See less
