Mediocre dining experience with no atmosphere (free-to-air commercial TV blathering on at all times, lots of hard surfaces). The food was amongst the most disappointing Japanese I've had. The grilled salmon was overcooked and chewy, the rice tepid and the miso unpleasant. The staff were polite, but I won't be returning. Sorry, folks. See less

I just discovered this place and love it so far! I thought there was no sushi available in preston until I came across sakana. The sushi is fairly prices and made fresh!! Very tasty. I am looking forward to trying the hot meals too :) See less

This is a pretty humble sort of take-away with limited options for vegetarians. They are friendly and polite with customers and I've been back a few times when I'm in the area. The food is good but not amazing or particularly authentic. No complaints though. See less

Friendly staff. Food wasn’t particularly fast but taste okay. The waitress gave my food to the wrong table, they almost dug into it before the waitress realized her mistake and just passed it onto me. Felt a little unhygienic but I was hungry so didn’t complain. Overall was okay. See less

Below-average japanese food, lacking in flavours. I had been looking forward to visit Sakana after hearing so many positive reviews. I found the experience quite disappointing. The staff are ready to provide assistance which is warming, and makes up for the run-down, unkept interior. The sushi rice is average quality in flavour and served relatively cold, which means it may have been prepared hours earlier. I found the Chicken Teriyaki dish to be lacking in flavour and seasoning. The chicken was laid on top and came out cold and dry, while the teriyaki sauce was sitting at the bottom of the bowl buried under the rice. Unfortunately the dish tasted like overcooked chicken that had not been reheated properly, and did not taste exactly fresh. See less
