Love love love this place! I live in the CBD but don't mind making a little trip down to North Melbourne for Fish & Chips here! It's super accessible by the Route 57 tram. It stops just outside the shop. $18 for the seafood basket (comes with house fish, x2 calamari, prawn, scallop, chips and tartare sauce!). It is a really good deal if you ask me. Their chips are delicious! Perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. I like to ask for well done chips since I prefer them to be extra crispy. The servers are always very friendly and smiling when they serve you. 2 thumbs up for both the food and service! See less

Would like to give it a good review but when ordering the ‘Wild Barramundi’ I asked if it were Australian or Taiwanese Barramundi. The guy said he thinks it’s from New Zealand. Not sure if New Zealand has Barramundi; didn’t think it did. But in any case he wasn’t sure. Are we sure it’s wild? How can we be? The fish looked big but when you jabbed it with a fork, the batter crumbled to reveal a lot of empty space around the fish. The chips were unappealing and very non-special. The salt shaker was a chore to operate and we both gave up and settled for the few grains of salt we were able to grind out. For a little more than the $16 I forked out here, I could have gotten a good feed elsewhere. I see the reviews are mostly positive and can only conclude that most are a mix of the easily pleased and the ones who have struck it lucky? I donno. We weren’t lucky. See less

OK FISH AND CHIPPERY AVAILABLE ON UBER EATS Tried this place is it is not far from home - making the uber delivery time more reliable! Fish is good and a reasonably sized fillet. Grilled a better option than battered as the latter is a bit dry. Chips are fairly ordinary in this age of creative fries but a medium serve will be plenty for two. Roast vegetables were a failure - mushy and heavily pumpkin based and didnt travel well in their carton. Cant go wrong with the South Melbourne Market dimsims :) Packaging for delivery was bad. The bottom box was fish flliet with bean salad and it got very squashed with the oil oozing through the box and the bottom of the delivery bag :( More appropriate food cartons mights solve the problem. Great fish, chips, grilled calamari and burgers every time I've come here. Chips have been good every time, the couple of times I've ordered fish it was fresh and tasty. Also ordered grilled calamari on one occasion, it was delicious and cooked just right. Burgers are great simple burgers, reasonably priced and ingredients are fresh and good. The bloke who's served me (I think it's his place) is always friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend if you're after a good, solid fish and chip place. See less
