We found this place on Google when we Googled ‘best restaurants in Adelaide’. It certainly lived up to it’s name. The food is amazing! Even as vegetarians we were enamoured. We sat at the bar and watched the magic happen. I recommend this amazing restaurant to whomever wants a real Adelaide experience of the asian fusion culture. When we come back to Adelaide we are definitely coming back. If you want great food with a twist. you gotta come here!! 😀 See less

They are amazing. We were so glad we sat next to the bar - seeing chefs are cooking/producing a great amount of the foods in order which was quite entertaining to watch. Staff are very attentive and friendly. Foods are great, very generous amount. We saw a lot of leek/eggplants dishes were going out - wish we ordered them too. Simply stunning. The team are incredible to watch sitting at the bar inn front of the kitchen. A well oiled machine with everyone working in perfect synchronicity. The wine list is small but with great choices across all price bands. The food (THE FOOD) was incredible. I have to say I love Japanese and given we haven't visited this restaurant before, we decided on the feed me package. It was incredible. Generous servings, flavours and presentation that lifts this restaurant well above the average excellent Japanese restaurant. There was a line at 9pm so be sure to book. Seating inside or out is available. I only rate awesome and horrid. This place was at the pointy end of awesome. Happy eating See less

Wonderful place for a fancy dinner! Only a short wait between dishes even though it was quite busy, and service was exceptional. We picked our dishes to share instead of the feed me options. Large selection of different dishes (most made to share) on the menu, with some being more generously sized than others. For the price point everything lived up to, and even exceeded our expectations! See less

Very cool dining experience with great music, service, food and drinks. They really went out of their way to make sure there were vegan options, our server Sha was so sweet and accommodating. Try the red rice sake and Singapore Sling - just delicious. See less

A highly recommended restaurant in a buzzing Laneway in Adelaide CBD, and it smashed all expectations! Food was packed full of flavour, perfectly cooked/raw haha and seasoned, and by getting the head chef’s recommendations, I tried things I would never have intentional chosen - worth it!! Small but delicious cocktail list. The beeswax aged whiskey was certainly smooth. Very friendly, knowledgeable and professional service. I missed the previous night service as it was quiet, however, the you g man booked me in for the following night and made sure it was extra special! Just wow! Shobosho deserved the top ⭐️ See less

First time dining and agree with many online reviews. Such a great dining experience without being over the top. Smart casual dress code is more than enough. We tried a few different things from the menu standouts were definitely the Katsu Sando and swimmer crab Udon. Could not fault anything we had. Drinks were also really good. Had about 6 courses and 2 drinks EA and ce to $220. Would happily dine here again next time we visit Adelaide. See less

Went here for my birthday dinner with my partner. First of all the service was great, waiters constantly went out of their way to ensure the meal was pleasant, your table was clean, dishes were gone within 40 seconds of finishing with the dish. Do not come here if you are looking for a ‘normal priced filling meal’. It’s very evident that this is a delicacy restaurant which I was aware of so I am happy with it, but I’m sure others may come here thinking it’s just ordinary food. The food was just sensational. We had raw salmon, tuna, crab pasta, a whole barramundi cooked in seaweed. It’s just amazing flavours. To be honest my favourite part was the vibe, all night was 90’s RnB/HipHop. Super unique for an Asian style delicacy restaurant. 1000% would recommend coming here for a special occasion lunch/dinner. See less

A great dining experience. Lovely restaurant in an atmospheric alley off Hindley St. Dishes were without exception outstanding, and the even, consistent excellence was perhaps best exemplified by everyone in the party choosing a different couple of dishes as their favourite at the end of the meal. Every meat dish we tried (grilled teriyaki chicken, char siu with fried rice, rib steak) stood out with their exceptional juicy tenderness and flavor. Shobosho must be a local Adelaide favourite as it was busy during the mid week dinner service and it's not hard to see why! The waiters were knowledgeable and offered some great suggestions from the menu. Highly recommend ordering the Salmon Tataki and Crab Udon. The crab Udon in particular was a standout - silky and chewy Udon noodles with a zingy and buttery Yuzu dressing with crab pieces mixed with some Nori to top. Unfortunately the kitchen ran out of dessert so we weren't able to try any of the offerings :( See less

Awesome atmosphere and great food. Favourites were definitely the rib steak and Teri chicken. Amazingly curated favours for the mains. Sando and crab udon was delicious too although bit pricey for the small portion for those 2 items See less

Six stars. If only that were possible. This is my FAVOURITE restaurant in the country!!!! I live in Canberra and dine in Melbourne and Sydney a lot (that consulting life…) and this place outshines the best of the best across the country. The staff are so friendly, knowledgeable and pleasant. They are easily the best in the game (especially Peta). Her service, knowledge and communication was sensational. She really made our evening special. I also can’t get over the prices. Silver service places charge more and they WISH their food and service was this good!! Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant, for example, charges more but their food and service is nowhere near as good. Sean’s Kitchen also wishes they could serve red meat as good as the aged ribs here (they can’t and Sean’s Kitchen prices are a joke for the quality of food they serve - go to Shobosho and get the Aged Ribs instead). The food is amazing, cooked to perfection with beautiful flavours and amazing presentation. The aged ribs was the stand out dish, although everything we had was 10/10. Even the bread was something special. The atmosphere, food and staff make this a truly special place that I would come back to time and time again. See less

I have quite high expectation about this place since it is one of recommendation from my friend and I've seen so many reviews said this place is one of the best restaurant in Adelaide. Their food was good but wasn't that great either. We ordered 6 dishes of starter, most of the main taste was on the sour side, which were 1. Oyster; ofc! Tangy taste to refresh at the kick off! 2. Salmon tataki; ponzu with wasabi. So average. 3. Wagyu tartare; with Katsuobushi mayo which i didn't smell or taste it at all. 4. Duck dumplings; also dipping sauce was also tangy. 5. Prawn wonton; the size was so small compare to the photo Ive seen on IG. The filling was good but the sauce is so bland. I think is might be good for soup but not good enough for sauce and also wonton skin I think some part they wrap it too thick so when they boil it's hard to cook and a bit chewy. 6. Grilled Leek, this one was good. Texture and balance of taste was perfect. Main; we had half grilled chicken which was delicious, aromatic from the char and texture was tender and cooked to perfection. Combination with fried rice which was on point, not too oily and pork was nice and still juicy. Service was nice and friendly but i think there should be more staff on public holidays since they were super busy. Overall, i think it was still a good experience to try the food from one of the best restaurant in Adelaide. See less

Great foods. Flavors are just amazing. Meal sizes are a little small, but the rich flavour a make up for it and some of the meals you most likely couldn’t eat much more given this. We ordered nearly everything on the menu. If you have no budget I would suggest this. Wine list and drinks are top notch also. See less
