Agree with Keith's post: too expensive, the attendant was not exactly helpful, as he told me that was self-prepared food and has to be spicy. Well as I am used to Indian food I know it can be tuned down, so no interest showed to customers I walked away to another place. See less

* Best tasting SL food in Canberra. ( Excluding small FB marketplace vendors and aunties who run side hustles.) * Simple and concise menu: perfect for a food truck. * They had run out of cuttlefish and some other items. * I had roti + 3 curries ( $15) good value and balance of flavours. Authentic godamba roti. * I asked for medium 🌶️ but found it mild. * The salad was more like a salty pickle. Similar to SL " fresh pickle" but leans more salty than sour. * Mango lassi was also great, but the salt was an unnecessary addition. At least it didn't contain asafoetida ( which I find 🤢), so that's a relief. * Must try!!! Recommend +++. See less

Love KOTTU from here! It’s basically pan fried curry Naan bread, so yummy! Reminds me of a Chinese street food 炒饼. The best thing is that they are open till 9pm so perfect choice for night food 😋 See less

I ordered the hot butter cuttlefish, lamb kottu, stuffed roti and vegetarian roll. I absolutely recommend the cuttlefish. It was nicely deep fried and good portion size. They stuffed roti was slightly on the small size and it was quite cold. The kottu is a Sri Lankan speciality where they shred the roti and pour gravy over it. I loved it that they put a fried egg on top of it. The best thing about it is that they turned the spice and salt level right up. I find most Indian/Sri Lankan restaurants to be quite bland but these guys don't stint on spice. You are in for a treat! See less

Edit: it's been four days and I've had Short Eats AGAIN for dinner. Can you tell I'm addicted?! Thanks again for a hands down, absolutely DELISH curry. Really hit the spot tonight! Original review: Love love LOVE the food. Today's classic chicken + 2 veg curry and curry puff was the perfect antidote to a cold lockdown day in. The crunchy chilli combo on top was just perfection. THANK YOU for moving to bustling Braddon. Everyone else in the neighbourhood (and even if you're not) - give Short Eats a try, make their move here worthwhile and maybe they'll even extend their opening hours (I've often walked past on a Sunday night hankering for a curry, but alas - Sundays in lockdown are too quiet to justify opening!). Thanks again, team Short Eats - can't wait to try more of your food in the weeks to come! See less

Veggie curries + roti ($15). Big portion and pretty yummy. Found the curry to be particularly salty though, almost too much. Could be spicier too but as a whole a good quick option :) open relatively late on weekdays (9pm, good when other options limited) See less
