I don't know if anyone else is like this, but to me it makes a huge difference what oil takeaway restaurants are using to fry - Vege oil here. everything was great quality, Fresh and tasty. See less

We ordered Mi Goreng tonight. Food was really yummy and fresh and the hospitality was great as well. Only small adjustment I would make is to not add that much chilli 🌶. Was a little bit too hot for a person not minding spicy food 🍲 :) thanks guys. Will order again soon. See less

Silver palace, thank you. - you have excelled in hospitality. (+ yummy food) 3 times in a week Wellingtonians have proved to me just what a good place we live in. Tonight, in my haste, I took my wife’s car….AKA Wallet forgotten. (30 min round trip) The understanding & trust was instantaneous from Silver Palace. Probably some of the worst fish and chips I've had in a while. Huge bits of fish but overkill on the batter which ruined it. The lady at the counter didnt smile once and seemed to hate her job. See less

This place truly gets away with being the only Chinese restaurant in a close radius. The food is very basic. You get a lot for your money, but that just equates to more average food than you wanted. The hygiene course certificates on the wall are from 1997 or something similar. The straw that broke the camels back for me was the following experience, I called on the phone to make an order: Me:"do you do chicken and black bean?" Them:"no, but we do black bean chicken" Me:"hmm. Yes ok" Me:"can I also get honey king prawns?" Them:"we don't have any honey left" (Note: they do this dish with the honey separate, the honey isn't cooked with the prawns) Me:"can you do it without it?" Them: "but then it wouldn't be called honey King prawns" Wow! We then got to the shop and asked for prawn crackers Them:"small or large" Me:"small" Them:"we only have large" Wow! The only thing I can really say about that is it seems like their daughter holds the front of shop and seems FAR too young to be doing this job! I almost understand her aloofness because I'd have hated that at that age, although with all things weighed up, I'll definitely be driving further because it's just not worth it! See less

Silver Palace Takeaways is a very good Chinese restaurant and I love there Donuts and Chips. When I ordered on phone I was down there in 5 minutes and my order was ready to go. There fish though isn't as good as it could be and the hot dogs aren't that great. Personally I think Silver Palace is a great restaurant. See less
