I have been to Sir Duke before and had an enjoyable experience. Today, was not good. I ordered takeaway for my lunch as a shift worker. I ordered this at 12 noon to pickup on my way to work. The order slip from the online booking service said 15 minutes until collection. I arrived at Sir Duke at 12:20 and was asked to wait as it wasn't ready. At 12:30, and needing to head to work, I was given the wrong order. I quickly realised and took it back. At this point, they looked it up on the system. I was told my food wasn't ready and hadn't even been started to prepare. This is 45 minutes after I ordered and after they said it was ready in 15 mins. I told them I had to cancel my order and wanted a refund. I paid on card but was given cash as a refund and with no apology or explanation sent on my way.
I don't want to tank this restaurants reviews as I have had good experiences in the past, hence the 3 stars. However, this incident caused me to be late to work and go an 8 hour nursing shift without food.
Please do better with your takeaway service. Put realistic pickup times down. See less
