What a beautiful setting. So nice to see so many families out enjoying the sunshine on an autumn day. We had the share pack for $37 it was so fresh with fish, calamari, prawns and chips, more than enough for two people. See less

Pretty good fish and chips, and great value with the kids. Check out the little forest section to the left (if you're facing the lake). My kids call it the secret garden, it's a magical, beautiful place, where the kids imagination can shine. See less

Very disappointing. It used to be the best place to get fish and chips, when they used to cook it as you ordered it. Now they cook it in batches (obviously because it's quicker) but now it's never hot when you get it, only just warm. This is the second time that this has happened so I won't be going back. See less

I will bring this back to a 5 star when they promise to never bring back the worst band brother (Hilton) and sister act they have ever brought to the lake. Really destroyed the ambience of a nice summers day by the lake! Someone must have been high or drunk when they thought it was a good idea to bring this awef performance to Canberra! See less

This is a great set up for gatherings of all sizes. We had a small family gathering with 4 adults and 3 kids and there was plenty of well spaced seating available. It is on the lakeside and you can bring a picnic blanket and sit on the grass. The menu is not confined to seafood and there is a separate licensed section for drinks and coffees and ice cream to round off the occasion. See less

Great outdoor space for families and those who enjoy a picnic as there are plenty of grass area to lay your blankets or rugs on without crowding others! Though the chips were good the fish, panko crumb prawns, calamari did not reflect the price. In my opinion overpriced for the quality and quantity. Mostly come for the environment rather than the food! See less

This is a fast food place with excellent chips and location by the yacht club. The fish part is average - I always just got whatever grilled option on offer and these were fresh if lacking in flavour somewhat. I always come back for the relaxing vibe, spend an afternoon watching kids and families in laughter, and enjoy the breeze from the lake with chips to munch on. See less

Fresh crumbed fish by the lake!? So good. Highly recommend this place. Called the snapper shack and they do not disappoint. $50 for 2 x snapper and chips plus calamari and cutlets. They also have the support of the yacht club and grateful selection of drinks. Go try if you, food plus lake side seating make for a great visit guaranteed See less

Good and fresh fish and chips. We chose the family pack - grilled salmon, battered barramundi, crumbed prawns and calamari, and chips. All devoured by the family! Has outside seating area (some overhead cover) overlooking the lake. See less

Been there many times. This time went there with interstate guests, I was disappointed with their fish. Order was incorrectly delivered, ordered grilled got battered. There was a young boy taking the order, I guess untrained. The fish tasted below average, although chips were great. Given the price you pay for the food, I won’t risk going again. Even though the establishment was very busy, the handling of the customers was ordinary at best. It is nothing more than a take away fish and chip shop, but charges a la carte prices for food mass cooked, placed in a bainmarie, and then packaged and served. They had run out of some menu options, but unless one ordered online, this was not made apparent ( drawing a line, or putting " sold out" on the displayed menu in the shop. Received grilled salmon which was over cooked and so oily that the cardboard container was soaked through. Chips weren't too bad. Overall, a fair "greasy spoon". See less
