Before writing this review today I had a look at the other reviews and was surprised to see the response people were giving. My assumption is that perhaps the store has become aware of these reviews and has actively tried to improve.
I went on Wednesday at about 1:20pm. So given that this store is located in a food court and it was on the later side of the lunchtime rush the odds were against them being the best Subway experience.
Simply enough - I found the staff to be friendly, easy to communicate with, and fast and efficient.
One thing that really stood out to me is that despite being a smaller store than others, it seemed to be the cleanest I've seen. In particular there was virtually no little bits of different salads in the different containers separating each salad (e.g. no random olive sitting among the carrots).
I also felt the quality of the salads was at the highest it could be and noticeably better than other Subways I've visited. I understand that this can vary with season or other factors but I would guess it wasn't just coincidence and I've seen lesser quality salads often at other franchises to the point where I question how they can justify serving it without at least a heads up.
ALSO, I asked the woman to use only a SMALL squeeze of the sauce, as I almost always do and she actually listened and put on what I would consider an appropriate amount given the request. This is one of the things that so many other places get wrong. You ask for a small amount and they just seem to apply the same strength of squeeze and you get way more than what you want. Of course things like "small" are subjective but I think true Subway fans will know what I'm getting at here.
I could not find any fault with my experience with them yesterday and I wish other Subway franchises (looking at you Canberra Centre store...) would pay a visit, take a look and maybe even talk with the franchise owner or the manager/s there to see how they're doing it. The end result was a great sub - and I've easily eaten 300+ in my life and that's a conservative estimate. OH before I forget, one thing I really felt in particular was that sometimes I find myself saying that the whole "sandwich artists" thing that Subway have touted themselves as being previously is dead and no longer how they carry themselves. I was definitely served by a sandwich artist today. I could go on even but I'll leave it at 5 stars. See less
