I have been to Taisho in Mascot several times and, despite the meals being pricey, thought they were still tasty. Decided to try the Wentworth Point store, as it is the closest japanese restaurant, and have been utterly disappointed. Ordered 5 dishes (take away) and ended up returning 3 (they did refund the cost of the 3 dishes). Food was stale, overpriced and tasted terrible. The worst was the caterpillar roll. The prawn was definitely off and was inedible. To make matters worse, 2 of the 3 staff were wearing their mask under their chin and the 3rd wasn't even wearing a mask. I dont know if the 3rd person had a medical excemption to not wear a mask but the 2 that were wearing should do so properly. At this time, when NSW is in lockdown due to Covid, thats frankly unacceptable. See less

I ordered katsudon. To be honest, Katsudon's receipe is Katsu+rice+egg+s+Veggies(onion+else)+soybean based sauce(tsuyu). but It was just Rice and katsu. that was all no veggies. and they didn't give any chopstics or spoon. so I had to eat by hand. OMG!!!!!!! See less

This restaurant is on my black list1🤣 It tastes nothing like Japanese. They cooked with Chinese noodle, soup was not tasty at all as well. the bento box was worst than food court. See less

Ordered 2 Sashimi platers and a large set of nigiri via EASI. The food we got is so random, not we ordered comparing with the menu or pics they provided! More importantly, there is no wasabi, no soy sauce at all!!! See less

Lotus chips and alburi salmon were very tasty. Ramen was lacking in flavour and serving size. Everything else is pretty eh. Pricey as well. Overall, give the lotus chips a go See less

We wanted to try Japanese place close to our friends place and visited this place as this was the closest one and had decent reviews. The customer service was great and food was good but bit heavier on the pocket specially for sushi and salmon. So we ended up ordering chicken karaage Bento Box which turned out to be good. The quantity was also nice. See less

Worst japanese food I had in a long time. This restaurant is run by Chinese - but this is beside the point. There are plenty of excellent japanese restaurants run by non japanese. These guys need to hire a professional chef. Had a takeaway from this place Service - the guy attending the front looks disinterested and doesn’t even know whats on the menu. I had to say “tempura prawn caterpillar roll” three times and he still had no idea and ordered me a California roll. Only when i pointed out on the menu he reluctantly changed it (and charged me $1 extra). Cost - 6 pieces of tempura prawn caterpillar roll - $19.80. Its way too expensive for this quality and serving of food. Quality - tempura prawn roll is tasteless and blend. Its hard to go wrong with these type of roll but they did go wrong somehow. Tempura Udon - tempura is soggy and oily. No crunchiness and look like veges are drown into oil and batter. I would spend my money on the japanese next door in the shopping centre. These guys seriously need to change their game otherwise they’ll be gone in few months. See less

Chinese operate Japanese restaurant. Had their ramen and it’s the worst ramen ever, it just full of MSG make you straightaway felt thirsty after that! And it has additional surcharge of 1 dollar for each meal you ordered! Trying to rip off consumer especially during this covid period! Do not recommend at all and avoid it at all time!! See less

We popped into this restaurant last minute as we got hungry on our walk with our dog. They were really friendly (even towards our dog) and the food was delicious! Would recommend trying it out and going for a nice walk by the water See less

i love the food, any of it, very accomodating staff kind and always smiling. price is reasonable every dish is full of flavour. the serving is more than enough for one. always going out tummy full. the place is so cozy and neat. very japanese. not too crowded and i enjoy eating here after lunch rush. will def recommend and will comeback. lovely restaurant, delicious food, though have to wait for long time for the food. Good Japanese restaurant owned by lovely Chinese people. Good customer services and nice staff. A bit expensive but worth the money. I’ve tried duck paradise roll, it was beautiful! One huge roll cut to eight n I can’t finished it on my own. Good good good! Recommend and I’ll definitely come again. See less
