We dined at The Ably tonight for our anniversary dinner having heard great things about the location. We had some wonderful cocktails, super delicious and we found the atmosphere really pleasing.
However, our food was quite the disappointment. Our food came out completely mixed up. Wrong extras on each plate, sauces wrong, extra prawns were about the size of a 10cent piece, supposed to be 5, was only 4 cost $10 extra.
When we asked the waitress about this she seemed to think everything was correct, even bringing the receipt out to show us. When she realised it was wrong she went and got some missed items, whilst my wife and I exchanged bits and pieces on our plates.
There was also no coleslaw as pictured in the menu which I was really looking forward too.... probably sounds strange, but I had a craving for it once I saw it, instead a handful of dressed rocket. When we asked about this, we were told... oh, is that still on the menu, we don't do that anymore. My wife has an intolerance to rocket, so it would have been good to know.
We aren't normally fussy people, but when we consider how much we spent on the food - two mains were $95, it was absolutely not worth the value and the mess ups really decreased the enjoyment. Very very over priced, especially when not executed well or paired with the advertised items. See less
