Came for lunch on a weekend. Service was good. Being a very windy day, staff were receptive to customer need for indoor seating. Prices are average. Decor is interesting and the environment not noisy or distracting. Experience with food was mixed. The pumpkin and mushroom bruschetta was yummy. On the other hand, corn fritters were uninspiring. The base (refer to picture) felt like a vege patty meal. To spice it up, one will be set back 4.50 for each addon, which include haloumi/mushrooms/bacon. By no means a bad place. Overall the experience was alright with the mixed experience of the meals a significant negative. See less

The food was fresh and tasty but nothing outstanding. Their plants are dying, maybe they should attend to them more especially if it’s the focal decor of the restaurant. Location is the winner though, being on the harbour with good views and fresh air. I would give an extra half star. See less

Usually excellent breakfast and scenic location however the eggs benedict special was aweful with solid boiled eggs and too much bland sauce. Even returned it to give a second chance and still could not get poached eggs right??? See less

Great location by the water with decent food and good service. Among the 4 of us, we ordered smoked salmon, shakshuka eggs and big brekky and 1 drink each. Drinks came out quickly however, we waited 45 minutes for our food which was pretty disappointing and not worth it. The cafe wasn't too busy at the time as quite a few tables were empty so we were wondering why the food took so long to arrive. Overall a nice place to try if visiting Newcastle (we were visiting from Sydney) but wouldn't return. See less

Friendly and polite staff when you walk in to a great menu selection to choose from combined with the view of the harbour when you sit out side make for a relaxing environment to have food in. Selected the eggs benedict with bacon and a latte which came out looking amazing and was went down a treat. Latte was spot on and accompanied the dish rather well. Give it a go and meet the staff at this awesome place. You won't be dissapointed. See less

Great service with extremely friendly staff. We were here from Sydney for the weekend, so enjoyed the local friendly staff who gave us a few pointers on where to go! The views are amazing too and generally a very laid back atmosphere. The food could have been better - however the exceptional service more than made up for it! See less

My partner, myself and our 5 yo grandson were looking for something different from the same old same old for a Saturday brunch. Found the Beehive on our wander along Honeysuckle. What a pleasant surprise. What a unique experience. The staff were so accommodating, especially with a 5yo in tow. We were treated like we were family from set go. The atmosphere was casual. Plants and greenery throughout. The menu./cuisine catered to all taste's. Truely, this was the perfect way to begin our weekend. Did I mention the vista facing towards the Hunter Port? Thank you to all at Beehive for that wonderful experience. See less

Walked in with baby pram and looked around I noticed they don’t have high chairs for kids so I cuddled my baby while I have my lunch but then I saw someone else received high chair some how when I almost finished my meal. My Beef burger was good and staffs were friendly when I asked them to hit up some baby food for my bubs. Would love to visit again! See less

Pleasant and colourful cafe on the foreshore. Great coffee and friendly staff. Very tasty meals cooked well. Crispy beacon , soft poached eggs , overall great place to have breakfast. Just a few extra things on the menu would have been good , two or three more choices meal wise and this place would rock. See less
