The Boat House has always been a great location crying out for food and service to match, and now it's happened.
Over nearly 2 hours on a sunny, Saturday afternoon we were served wonderful food, with service to match and a complicated set of dietary requirement (1 celiac, 1 vegan) dealt with with ease.
The 3 course set lunch menu is very good value at $77 for the quality of the food here.
Hiramasa kingfish and the ginger mirin pork belly were both superb entrees, and the Humpty Doo barramundi, charcoal pork loin and Cowra lamb rump very well cooked mains.
The only disappointment was dessert - nothing wrong but we all fell for the Braidwood
honey crémeux and it was nice, without being great (interestingly, the vegan version, which replaced the ice cream with raspberry, was much better).
Service was top class - quick, informed, friendly, and despite the Covid-induced time and dining restrictions, we never felt pressed for time.
A very good addition to Canberra's fine dining scene, and with the location to match. See less
