The service here is very average. Often you will be waiting at the counter for 10 minutes before anyone acknowledges you then once you've made your order, you'll wait another 15 minutes. It's like they're baking the cake while you wait. See less

Went to get a cake here but they told me that it would take 4 hours before their slave could bring it out. Apparently the slave was crying in the back as the owner had taken their passport and refused them basic human rights. See less

Went to get a cake and waited 20 minutes for service. Rang the bell several times and called out for service and no reply. When the lady finally came she didn't apologise and took another 10 minutes to get the cake. She was also on the phone the entire time. Horrible service See less

I’ve been there many times . Lose the passion fruit cheesecake it’s light and not too sweet and profiterole Continental cake it’s a very fluffy sponge with real cream and custard inside , next time I will try the caramel Definitely worth a trip See less

Asked for a Swedish chocolate sponge cake. I specifically asked if the cake was fresh and was told yes. When I got home to cut the cake and I could clearly see that it is not fresh, the cream is cracked and separated and there is condensation around ontop and when I called them to question them about it I was told the cake is "frozen because its winter." Kids decided to eat it anyway and discovered its a coffee flavoured cake so kids wouldn't eat it. Never have I ever had this kind of experience at any other Cake Merchant I have been too. I will travel further to get the experience I expect and the experience I am accustomed too at other stores like Bonnyrigg and Hoxton Park. See less

Placed on order on doordash. Money was taken and the order was confirmed. Waiting 40min. The driver went to pick up my order and they refused to give him the cake. The driver called me up and told me what happened. The manager refused to send the cake with the driver as apparently they no longer deal with doordash and forced me to cancel me order. The driver was nice enough to call and advise what was happening and I did receive any call from the store or doordash to advise what had happened . My family and I will not be ordering again from this place . Very unprofessional even doordash was shocked with what happened and they escalated the case. See less

Customer service on Sunday was one off the worst ever. She was so rude and when she answered my questions she was getting angry at my questions quality of cake was poor when I ask her if cake is freshly made and she reply Yes we freshly make it on site. Which when I arrived home with the cake and was told they're not freshly made. Called them back and her answer changes No we don't make them on site. First and last. Caramar store ur the worst store. The cakes are good but the workers have really bad communication skills and are really slow. Been here twice great cakes but I don’t like waiting 30mins-40mins for a cake, especially when I ordered it a week ago and they would only write the message on the cake when I come to pick it up. See less

Bought some vanilla slices from here today and they were inedible. I asked the young girl if they were freshly made today and she replied yes. A whole other story when we ate them at home. The custard was very grainy and gloopy and the pastry was old. I’d say they were at least 2 days old, if not more, and poorly made. This is the second time I have bought cakes from this store and it wasn’t nice. I usually buy from the hoxton park store and they seem better quality. Seems that this store gets the leftovers from the other stores judging by the poor quality. Don’t waste your time. See less

I came to this cake shop Tuesday for a cake for my son's 12 th birthday the staff member told me the cake was just chocolate . It turns about the cake was coffee. I called that night, Wednesday, Thursday to be told a manager would call me back everytime the manager failed to do so every time. I went into the store Friday morning to be told a manager would call and still no call. I called Friday afternoon to be told the manager will not be doing anything about this because it is Friday and it's not their problem their staff told me it's the wrong cake and no one returned my call !! Disgusting customer service , breach of policies of cake merchant and disgraceful management skills. My son's birthday was ruined with no regard shown by this store See less
