Ordinary main portions for exorbitant prices and typical pub quality. If I'm paying $33 for a tiny chicken schnitzel with sauce, I at least expect to not have to fill up with the below average bistro. This place is stick in the 90's while demanding fine dining prices, as reflected by it's boring menu. See less

The staff were very rude and not friendly at all. One of the worst meals I’ve honestly had in my life from a pub. The squid was chewy and didnt have any flavour at all and the serving size was also very small. Won’t be coming back here again. See less

Food was disgraceful ordered salad with my meal and got a bowl of soggy coleslaw that’s all. Others , in our group ordered veg with their meals and got a bowl of extremely overcooked vegetables which apart from a piece of pumpkin was unrecognisable by look texture or taste and it was sitting a sloshy type of broth. Children’s nuggets and chicken tenders were so over cooked that the kids could not chew them. So disappointed as this has always been a place we loved to go. See less

Today I've had the worst dining experience in years. Lunch for three and a baby schintzel. The baby schnitzel was served almost immediately so toddler was finished and grumpy while we waited 40 minutes for mains. My steak was cold and well done when I asked for medium. One schnitzel was ok but the second was burnt and hard. The broccoli from the salad bar was a week old. And they looked at me like I was criminal when I asked for scotch and ice. Never again . Pretty rich for the price of food we spent $77 there last night for our daughters birthday only had so many things to choose from my partner wanted roast beef but got told no they only had corn beef which was find when she got it she said it was terrible the meat was like rubber she rathered have soup from the salad bar See less

What a great place to take the family to eat. With the buffet back,the gawler arms also has desssert bar.u pay a little more but was so worth it. Can eat as much as u want. The food was stunning. There were 5 of us and we all rated our meals 10/10. Missing a potato bake ,but didnt detract from a wonderful meal. Best hot custard ive ever had! Went there Saturday night for a family birthday gathering. Bar staff were friendly enough but the kitchen couldn't even manage to produce two meals of the same type at the same time. Food was OK at best. While we have lunched here many times over the years, this will be our final visit for an evening meal. See less

A big thankyou to the staff tonight especially the lovely lady who took our booking of 30 on short notice and did so with a great friendly welcome. Thankyou to the Chef/s for the amazing food and awesome menu, the vegetarian options were excellent and the crumbed tofu and garlic cream sauce was the best I've tasted. The food came out perfectly timed and perfectly cooked, the chips were perfect also! Thankyou mostly to Sienna who was so professional and friendly. It was meant to be. I highly recommend dining at the Gawler Arms Hotel. See less
