Great bistro and friendly staff!
I unfortunately missed out on free soft drinks, coffee, tea, snacks and feeling like I was one of the preferred and rewarded customers, because this treatment is reserved for gaming machine users only.
It made me feel like it was actually going to be good value to 'invest' $5 in a gaming machine, instead of purchasing a $5 coffee.
It seems pretty obvious that I could have a coffee and have the chance to win even more than the cost of my original $5....or just have the coffee with no chance at 'winning'.
The choice seems easy...unfortunately it's also too easy, to be lured into putting more than the $5 that the coffee would have cost and it's too easy, to fall victim to the intentional psychological effects of today's typical 'pokie' experience.
The experience simply becomes irrisistable to some people, even the most self controlled of us.
In my opinion and as far as I am aware according to Responsibile Conduct of Gambling law, gambling shouldn't be used to offer a feeling of value or to offer any extra service or treatment not available to patrons who chose not to gamble but, it seems to be the prevalent trend around this area.
