We found the Italian place on line and when we visited as an extended family of seven for dinner We discovered a really interesting menu with authentic delicious dishes that we would expect as part of a special Italian family meal/feast (not Australian Italian). The wine list had an excellent mix of local and Italian wines. The restaurant is cozy and on our night, a Tuesday, was very busy. The staff were attentive, but not intrusive and looked after us all night. You can't really say this is a hidden gem as I think it is well known. Will we be back. Absolutely!! See less

Excellent, and respectful service. Food cooked perfectly, and ready very quickly. We had a timed booking but due to the efficiency of the kitchen and service staff we did not feel rushed. I love the personable touches in this restaurant: regional food, personal service, careful wine matching, matching knowledgeable food stewardship with a relaxed atmosphere. I tipped more than my budget could afford...but by golly the staff and kitchen deserved it! See less

Honestly one of the best meals I have had in my life! Food, but more importantly service, was one of the best I've experienced. Thankyou for a great meal. Particularly as you shoehorned us in just before closing. Somewhat outside our budget but very happy to pay AND leave a tip! See less

We were on our way to another restaurant when we walked past, and the aroma coming from the door stopped us in our tracks, so we grabbed the last table left outside. This was the best meal I've had in a long, long time. It's rare to find a chef who can pack so much flavour into food. Every mouthful was amazing. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming. It was a truly special lunch and we can't wait to go back again. Highly, highly recommend if you get the chance to go. See less

Small but very busy Italian restaurant in braddon . Must book ahead to secure a table. Love the decor with the classic Italian family restaurant feel. Food is good but I found the linguini a bit too oily for my liking. Would still like to go back and try other dishes. See less

Wow! Wow! Wow! Best Italian food I have had. The atmosphere was great. A beautiful night to sit outside. Can't say enough about Henry our waiter. He was very knowledgeable about the food, very friendly, great service. Always willing to do anything when asked. Happy. You can tell he loves what he does and enjoys his work. Highly recommend this great restaurant. As a visitor I was very impressed. Thank you. See less

My family & I enjoyed our dinner last night. The food esp the lamb, squid ink seafood pasta & the baramundi were divine. Service was fantastic esp from Mike who was really passionate describing the food...kudos Mike. Will definitely be back on my next trip to Canberra. See less

Amazing food. Small menu but everything we had was done very very well, from the bread and aperitivos to pasta and main. Service was a little slow, but understandable given how busy it was. The decor could do with a little smartening up to match the food... Laminated maps on the wall don't complement the level of food. Will definitely be back. See less

Simple and delicious! Easy 5 star. Super unpretentious food, space and staff. I went to Italians and sons the night before and I definitely liked the food here more. They have a selection of wines from the Canberra vineyard region but they also have a great selection of wines from Italy. See less

I heard about the this place from some of my work colleagues. "Simple and Delicious" they said. So I went to try it for myself. We ordered the lamb and the beef, both of which were so tender they almost melted in your mouth. The other items in the dishes complemented the flavours and worked well to complete them. The wine was also very good. We both have a sweet tooth so we ordered a Muscat and a Moscato. Both of the wines had a nice sweet and deep flavour which stood out from store bought variants. I found the service was generally quite good. Our server was friendly, but not overly so. I liked the older man who served our wine. I unfortunately didn't catch his name but he really made us feel special. 5/5. Planning to go back again to try more of the menu! See less

Don't worry I did not eat all these desserts, they were for the people around me, but they were so amazing I had to take a snap. I loved the place, loved the staff who were totally organised in sorting out gluten free bread & a gf main for me, food was superb as was the service. The Italian place is nice cozy restaurant that makes you feel like you’re in Italy! The lively, busy and uplifting atmosphere is really something unique. All the staff are super hardworking and try their best to assist you navigating the menu. We had a range of dishes from the seared scallops to beef steaks, pork fillets and squid ink pasta. I would say that all the dishes were cooked nicely, the flavours were nice and presentation not bad. Though most of the dishes were too salty for our liking which might have been a one off occurrence. But overall a recommended place for catch up with friends or a special occasion. See less

WOWWWW MY BEST MEAL YET IN CANBERRA!!! firstly the service was amazing, we got there early and they were happy to let us start drinking. Wow the pasta is the stand out, we shared two entrees and 4 mains between three because we couldn’t miss out. It was all amazing and the chefs were fabulous. I’ve just moved to Canberra and I’ll be back 1000x times!!! Thanks for the Fantastic service and the homemade and authentic Italian food! See less
