While the Corner Bar might seem a bit noisy at times, the food is good and a great value for money. Great wine list and friendly service is a huge bonus. Kids friendly, too! See less

Great evening, wonderful feel of locals enjoying a drink, food, and a good belly laugh. Staff are attentive and listen. Food as always 10 out of 10 . Had a lady walking around with wine tasting, excellent idea and had people talking from table to table about the wine. I hope she sold some bottles as it was very good. Lots on at the Kensi a Pike's luncheon on the 14th November, not to be missed. See you there. See less

Decor is always nice and the serving staff obliging and friendly. The meal I had on this occasion was surprisingly good given that I mostly try to only eat salads when eating out. I think all of my party enjoyed what they'd ordered. See less

The service was great. My friend enjoyed and loved her lamb shanks. She said the meat was tender & fell off the bone. I on the other hand was already regretting having ordered the chicken which possibly could have been the smallest chicken breast I have seen. I was still hungry when I got home and at $34.00 for my plate thought it was expensive. See less

Watched the Grand Final here. Incredible drinks and food package, with the wine list a standout, but the best part of the experience was the ladies behind the bar, outstanding customer service with a smile! See less

A disappointing visit. I went out for a father's day dinner with the family. Went to the bar to order an Old Fashioned (bitters, sugar and whiskey) but was told they didn't know how to make one and the staff were not interested in trying to find out how to make this 30 second drink. I mentioned it to the staff on departure and again they couldn't have cared less.... The excuse I was given was they didn't have any cocktail bar attendants on tonight. Really? At a bar at dinner? The food used to be amazing, something has changed in the past few months. Had a group of 9 friends for dinner, no one was raving. Was the best pub food in Adelaide, no longer. Last 4 times just below average. Their wine lunches were a fave of mine, sadly do not have the confidence to book and drop $115 for their food. They must not want to sell any tickets as it is no longer promoted on their page. Used to put degustation menu up to sell tickets. You would want to to pay $115 See less

Perfect serving sizes and gorgeous dining area. Child friendly with accommodating, friendly, well presented staff. Beautiful artwork on the walls, too! Only fault was the slightly too small plates the meal was served on - food was easily spilled over by the server as he put them in front of us. See less

As an infrequent patron of hotel bars, I mused at the stridently Ocker culture I found at the Kensi. Nothing wrong about that, but with only one bar to choose from, it struck me as a trade limiter. On my recent solo visit, with some hours to fill between appointments, I was probably hoping for a more congenial setting to wile away the hours. Given the location of the Kensi, I thought it might cater to a broader, multi-cultural, and gender diverse clientele. From the fracas at the crowded bar, I found myself in an all-male environment, possibly a mix of middle-aged tradies and middle management. With bar stools elbow to elbow around an L-shaped bar, there was no bench space from which to order a drink. And no corner tables to retreat to, other than punter's corner surrounded by screens. Like many Adelaide hotels, the floorplan of the Kensi, with generous space for machines, leaves little room for a variety of bars that might cater for a broader range of patrons. Arriving at 4, and planning to stay until 7, I was dismayed to find the dining room closed until 6. The food I ordered was well done, the waiting staff friendly, the wine list excellent. But meals, to my mind, were overpriced, which may account for a predominance of empty tables. All this confirming what I recollect from my last visit (6 years ago), of a dining room of dignity and class, but not a place to bring the kids. Semi-opulent, competently modernised long ago, but lacking the stylish edge of excitement I look for in a welcoming, contemporary venue. On the strength of my visit, not a place I would choose to return to unless, as on this occasion, I have limited alternatives. See less

Dropped in Sunday afternoon for lunch. Two adults & two kids. We grabbed a booth. They were really great in bringing out the kids meals ASAP (they were fidgety and hungry). They took our order and the drinks arrived quickly. Unfortunately we had to keep chasing up subsequent drink orders. The double cheeseburger was nice. It came with chips but no salad or vegetables. Patties a little over cooked. The schnitzel was good size and as is usually expected for pub grub. It was cozy inside and we would definitely return. See less
