Best place for lunch around Mascot area. Food is honestly great. It is very clean and decent, feel like home made food. only downside is you have to wait for your burgers because they have only a small pan to cook patties. See less

(3.5 stars) Being in Mascot’s industrial area, there’s probably no way you’d stumble into The Lobby Café accidentally, but if you happen to be one of the eight thousand people employed by Qantas next door, it should be on your radar. It’s a five-day-a-week business aimed toward pleasing the diverse group of people who work in the building itself and next door. “This is a test kitchen for us,” explained owner Andrew Kennedy, who took over the twelve-year-old business about fourteen months ago. He’s busy streamlining processes – like removing the five-and-a-half-minute sandwich press and replacing it with a 90-second speedy oven – adding on a liquor license four weeks ago. The end goal is to create a franchisable business model that could roll out into any office block. Good processes start with “the mindset that you don’t want to disappoint anyone,” Kennedy explains. Being a workplace canteen, the menu he has created “is about speed and the food being familiar.” Every day you’ll find six pre-made salads, plus four sides and six main dishes in their hot food bar. There’s also a little salad bar that Kennedy used as market research to create a salad range based upon his clients’ most popular choices. The hot dishes, which ranged from sweet and sour pork to cannelloni, are served Build Your Own Plate ($12.90) style, with one protein-based dish and two sides. Any leftovers go into creating tomorrow’s pie, which, in the case of the Thai chicken curry one I tried, allows the curry's flavours to develop before they are encased in buttery puff pastry and scattered with sesame seeds. The Thai red curry pie has a nice, lip tingling heat, with plenty of chicken and tender mushrooms to be found within. It’s served with your choice of salad – for me that was halloumi salad – mixed greens dotted with roasted vegetables and hunks of grilled cheese. Burgers are well-priced and popular at The Lobby Café, either alone or as a Combo ($13.50) with chips. The Chicken Katsu Burger ($9.50) sees deep-fried crumbed bird presented with a simple, well-drained ‘slaw and lettuce on a bun that isn’t sweet. The chips are pretty ordinary, but the oil they were cooked in is clean. The coffee trade is brisk. The beans are roasted locally by Gypsy Coffee Roasters in Alexandria, and perform well across a Cappuccino ($3.50) and a Latte ($3.50). We also get a bottle of Purezza sparkling water for free, with The Lobby Café opting to absorb the eight cents it costs per bottle. As you can see, they really do want their customers not to be disappointed by either quality or price. See less

The Lobby Cafe is a short walk from Mascot station. This cafe has serviced the workers of the area for many year and now under new management, still producing quality food. The Lobby cafe is open from 6am - 4pm providing a good selection for breakfast, lunch and are open for that afternoon coffee. The Lobby cafe have healthy options including a range of salads and freshly made juice. There are sandwiches and wraps for those in a hurry, they also have a range of tasty burgers on offer. The katsu chicken burger a must, the chicken breast in panko crumb, asian slaw, on a brioche bun is simply delicious. If you are after a hot meal and some variety, the hot bar does the trick. The meal options change daily and are reasonably priced. We are certainly a fan of their Malaysian chicken curry. They also do beef, vegetarian and fish meals. The fish is super popular, so get in early. It is of the better lunch places in the area, with friendly service and good food. See less

Chairs are good and comfortable. Coffee could be better. Toast is no good. Burgers I must admit it’s great what the 3 stars is for super moist and morish. Owners are argumentative but mostly friendly. The girl stirring coffee is very nice and polite. Having IBS no toilets are a bad thing for me especially eating the spicy pork burger I was in strife. Good range of soft drinks and salads and frozen cakes. Try a burger. A bit pricey but I think it might be a healthy halal friendly burger (chicken) not pork. See less

As the name suggests, this cafe is in the lobby of a corporate building. Open 5 days a week serving up a wide range of breakfasts to lunch. Bacon and eggs, to burgers to pastas, they also do catering. We had a chicken burger and a beef burger, served with chips ofc. Both burgers, the meat was juicy and not dry. Serving freshly squeezed juice & Gypsy Coffee. We heard they are getting their menu revamped! Go & check out their new menu! See less

The Lobby Cafe is conveniently located along Coward Street, this is the perfect spot for lunch and your morning coffee runs!. The owner has put a lot of effort and attention into what his customers want, he rotates a lunch menu weekly. Great slices I recommend the Snickers & Coconut with cranberry! The Burgers are delicious too and I loved the Pulled Pork with a little spice! Definitely good for breakfast or lunch for nearby workers with the rotating hot food section you wont be bored. See less

Located not far from Mascot station, this Cafe offers a large variety of breakfast and lunch meals. From the classic Cafe menu, indulgent sweet treat to ready-to-eat hot meals. For the start, the coffee was awesome (from Gypsy Coffee). Before having the main meals I had some of their healthy sweet treats. Heavenly! My favourites: the raw snickers and cranberry slice. Their pulled pork burger was pretty good. The pork was flavoursome and given generously. My favourite dish during this visit: Southern fried chicken burger. The house spice rub chicken fillet was crispy on the outside and oh-so-tender and juicy on the inside. The slaw and peri peri mayo definitely gave a nice kick. See less
