Amazing cocktails...could drink them all night (especially the French Martini). The staff were very attentive and the food and wine were on point. Fantastic local spot for a Friday night! See less

Great little cosy digs with a unique self service vintotech wine selection. A great way to sample and purvey some great local and international wines whilst digging into the tasty tapas menu that caters for all. See less

This was hands down the worst dining experience I have ever had. I had provided my dietary requirements in advance. The restaurant insisted all the people with dietary requirements sit at a separate table from the rest of the group. So myself and a couple of vegetarians were sitting by ourselves at a large table. Despite the organizer and I repeatedly reiterating that I could not eat gluten as I am coeliac I was served cross contaminated food. The vegetarians were served meat. I was served red meat (I had specifically requested no red meat!) and some unpalatable dry bread/cracker thing. Despite paying substantially for a nice dinner myself and the vegetarians were not able to eat almost any of it and were ravenous by the time mains was served - 9pm, as we had not been able to eat almost any of the entreè and there is only so much cooked cauliflower you can eat. I ended up getting bullied into eat red meat because they did not make my gluten free plate with anything other than red meat. After the previous treatment I was sure I would simply not get a meal if I told her to take it back to the kitchen. And as mentioned above the entreé was mostly unsuitable or just disgusting. The vegetarians were eventually given some fried cheese for mains around 9:15pm. The chef didn't serve food appropriate for our dietary requirements. The food was disgusting to meh. The staff weren't even keeping up with the water. We had to wait a very long time for mains. It was expensive and miserly. There were no extra serviettes. The poor waitress looked extremely harried and didn't know what to do with the inappropriate food she was told to give us and then told by us we couldn't eat. I will never go back there. I strongly recommend against the platters menu. It is completely unsuitable for people with any dietary requirements no matter how mainstream. I regret not asking for my money back and just leaving. Wine on self-pour tap? Yes please! Casual drinks with friends here on a Friday night and we really enjoyed ourselves. A unique experience where you can order some drinks over the bar or load up a charge card and self serve at the wine-vending machines arranged the length of the venue. See less

This is a fabulous wine bar - fast, friendly & efficient table service. Our tapas platter was beautifully fresh with local ingredients & our wine selection was of premium quality. A lovely warm atmosphere with a great Saturday night vibe with tables of locals enjoying the last of the warm Summer nights. We’ll be back! xx See less

The real issue here: the lazy, arrogant owner, Baz, of this seemingly nice establishment... Having automated wine dispensers does not mean you can stand around looking important while customers 1. have to pour their own wine, 2. have to make sense of unknown brands and varieties, 3. have to beg for staff's attention to order food or get any sort of help with your subpar quality offering. Although an interesting concept, you do actually have to be hospitable and provide sound service to your customers. Or is it because you don't actually know anything about wine or hospitality? Stop this amateurish work and hire real food and wine professionals at last. See less

Not a fabulous experience for us, such a shame as we had high hopes for our local. The service was slow and had us confused. One person working behind the bar at one point (on a Friday night) and so many people waiting to be served. People lined up to try for a table and nobody assisting them. A nice atmosphere, however it took too long to get a drink and wasn’t well organised See less

Unfortunately The Local didn't shroud itself in glory last night. We have been to The Local multiple times for drinks and have been impressed with the selection. We chose to also eat last night. Unfortunately the food and service was mediocre (at best!). The cured salmon was strangely sweet (capers mentioned on the menu not available and left with an unpalatable dish of salmon and watermelon puree), green tomato salad (was normal red tomato and bland, not seasoned), cheese platter underwhelming. Granted the patatas bravas was tasty. Service was also quite subpar. Despite booking weeks in advance, we were moved twice to accommodate other peoples bookings. There was no appreciable table service. When we politely asked for the cheese platter which had been forgotten, 3 people in including the chef descended on the table like we about to have a smack down. Weird night. Not sure I have ever witnessed anything like this. Not sure we will come again for anything but drinks. Would not recommend to anyone with self respect. See less

Dinner at @thelocalwineco! Good drinks/wine and really great food. We went on a weekend night, and I think most other people were there for drinks only, which is their main focus. However, their food is actually really really great! If you go there, I would suggest you to get both drinks and food! Service was efficient yet very lovely. Would definitely return for more 👍. . Eggplant chips, calabrian chilli sauce, aioli: wow these eggplant was sooooo good! The outside was super crunchy and the inside was tender. Really looks like huge "chips"! . Taramasalata, pita crisp, sumac: super super tasty dish, but also really rich. Became quite filling very quickly haha 😅😅😅. . Roast cauliflower, caper and raisin vinaigrette, fried chickpeas: can't go wrong with nicely roasted cauliflower! This one was nicely done! . North african lamb cigar, labne, harissa: omg this was so good!!! Almost like a spring roll, but much more delicious. The lamb inside was really tasty. . Chicken liver parfait, port jelly, cornichons, lavosh: perfect chicken liver parfait. Very smooth! . Prawn croquettes, wild watercress, aioli: just a nice and simple dish 😃😃. See less

What a great wine bar with a great concept and environment. Last night was my first time there (and my date's first time too) and we both loved it. Great selection of wines (the self-serve concept is awesome), great service and great food. Definitely will be coming back even though I live a good 45min drive away. To top it off, both my date and I got the best parks too. She was the first park to the right and I was the first park on the left as you exit the wine bar, although I'm not counting on a repeat luck scenario the next time. Well done, The Local Wine Co!! Great little bar on King William Rd which offers something a little different. Start a tab at the bar and you're given a card to allow you to pour your own wines from a special self serve wine pouring machine. Although a little daunting at first glance, it's really easy. The bar is deceptively large, going all the way down the back and out to an outside undercover area. Well worth a visit and remember to support your locals during this weird world we now live in. Wine time is chill time at The Local Wine Co What a cool space, with self dispensing wine machines allowing you to create your own vino adventure at your own pace. Hands on owner Baz displays great pride when greeting each & every visitor (something that seems to be lacking alot these days) and his passion for wine is clearly reflected in the local wines on show. Alas we didnt have time to try the food menu (which reads great by the way), but we are definitely looking forward to doing so when we return soon. See less

This place is awesome! My wife and I come in here more than we probably should and are always greeted with friendly and knowledgeable service. The food is reasonably priced and the cheese platter is well stocked. The wine selection is great and I really like the concept of the tastings. The on street seating is a great addition. The venue also provides an intimate function setting and was a great experience having one there. See less

My new favourite wine bar in Adelaide, close to home, easier parking and the city. Absolutely loved the chicken pesto pizza and meat/cheese platter - reasonably priced and value for money. Beautiful massive array of wines, tasting cards available and self serve - fridges of wines to taste for $2-3.50 press a button, swipe the card and then you can pour yourself a standard drink or a larger glass of the one you love. Great vibe, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Will definitely make this my new regular for drink catch ups. See less

What a jewel I found just around the corner from where I live! Sophisticated and minimalist classy look. Great Tapas selection, self serve wine. Great array that changes weekly. Love the concept and you can have a half glass pour or even just a taste! I've been back already and will be sending my Airbnb guests there. Lovely young men at the helm! See less
