My friend and I ordered together; he got his burger in 11 minutes, I got mine in 42 minutes. Service from the staff was pretty reluctant with an eye-roll thrown in for good measure when I went to ask what was taking so long with my burger. Food was delicious, though! See less

Old, rustic, colonial style pub with indoor and outdoor seating and a cozy atmosphere. I went with a large group on a Sunday afternoon. Orders are taken via a link from a QR code on each table. Our table was very unfortunate in that the orders were lost in the ether some where and it was around 2 hours many of us waited for our food. I was the most disappointed with my lamb kofta meat balls looking dry and unappealing- a little greenery may have helped! The chips definitely needed the sauce they came with. Some of the other meals looked more appetising. The arancini balls were a hit with some of our group. The afternoon entertainment was pleasant. Overall, we had a pleasant time and it seems a good space to get together with some mates. I wouldn’t go just for the food. I’d say 2 ⭐️ for the food but 3 ⭐️for the atmosphere. Happy to try again sometime to see if we just picked a bad day.😊 See less

Fabulous historic pub in Canberra with a good wine selection and awesome food! Good portion size and great prices! Highly recommend the current special: Coconut Roasted Sugar Cabbage with turmeric chickpeas with walnuts and macadamias. Sounded intriguing so I had to try it. Amazing flavours and one of the best meals I have eaten! Well done to the kitchen for trying new things - this was an absolute winner! Please, PLEASE, consider moving this to the permanent menu - I'd dine here everyday if I could eat this!! :-) See less

A must visit an old gem in Canberra which is popular amongst locals and visitors. They have great variety of food options available for all dietary requirements, and lists of beer with exciting flavours and range. Had an absolute great time having some drinks and food. More family type place but definitely popular among all age groups. See less

This place has an awesome vibe. It's actually one of the oldest standing structures in Canberra. Super blast from the colonial past. Awesome live music, craft beers on tap with plenty of space and shade and cool bred breezesI summer and super warm fires in winter. See less

Excellent old style pub, has exactly the feel you want and the name says it all. Staff are very friendly and was really nice to see them making sure it was all Covid safe and people had masks on. Had a group of guys walk in with masks around their chin or not even on, pulled them up right away. Food was so hot and fresh we had to wait to eat it, was absolutely burning hot, just what you want from a meal. Everything was delicious, seasoned perfectly and overall really well done. The French fries dip was outrageous, get extra if you can. Ordered was: Arancini Halloumi fries French fries Again, the staff and attitude just gave a good vibe which lead to a great experience. A lovely little pub, really nice and cosy. The staff were very friendly, the food was great, the beers I’m told were good too. There was lots of off street parking available. Child friendly. Really nice evening in a lovely ambiance. A classic old style pub. Would recommend going here. See less

The kangaroo was pretty good once I combined it with mustard and hot sauce. These contents were available on the cutlery stand next to the kitchen. It would have been great if they added a sauce as a side. It was a bit weird that they put chips are in the salad. The chips list its crispness when it was all mixed in with the ingredients See less

Excellent atmosphere!! The staff are friendly and very helpful. The menu is just great, I tried the buffalo wings with chips. You can choose Big Plate or Small Plate deals, both of which are generously served.. even kid's plate are available here. Vegetarian menu as well. Highly recommended place. Go here to feel the past come to life with what theyve done with the atmosphere. See less

Really nice pub in Lyneham, mix of in and (primarily) outdoor seating. There is also an outside smoking area (but no food allowed). Chips and nachos were great, but the fish was a little sad. The beers on tap were awesome, I liked the pink lady apple cider by cider thief the best. Busy place, so come early, or late! See less
