We had such an amazing time at the Real Greek Tavern - the mouth watering food (of huge proportions) was just like being in Greece, and the friendly service made us feel like we were at a friends house! The delicious deserts were served by the friendly chef who made them that morning, and we can't thank them all enough for helping us celebrate a special occasion. We can't wait to go back again and highly recommend it to others! See less

Excellent roast potatoes, friendly service and generous portions. Three stars done. For the actual food, it varies depending on your expectations but I wasn’t satisfied. I was expecting piping hot food from the oven or a spit but it wasn’t the case. Also the seasoning is very minimal on the meat although delicately cooked. There’s plenty of Greek food in Melbourne to compare with and these guys need to take it up a notch to match up. See less

We went to The Real Greek Tavern for the first time today & we will definitely be returning. We celebrated Mother's Day and enjoyed the banquet. The food was delicious and plentiful. Although it was all very tasty, the highlights for me were the calamari, prawn saganaki, cheese balls and lamb. We couldn't finish it all, so they kindly gave us containers to take home leftovers. We couldn't fault the service, very friendly and attentive. All the guests left very impressed & satisfied. See less

I felt like I was eating in someone’s home. Everyone was very warm and welcoming, however it was the food that was so amazing. It felt like this was the food that a Greek family would eat at home and it was perfect. I had grilled calamari and my husband had the slow cooked lamb and the serves were so generous that I couldn’t finish mine. We were even given a container of baklava to take home! 10 stars! See less

4.5 STARS!! The staff greeted me warmly and with a smile. Almost immediately I felt very welcomed. Had a glass of Greek white wine to start and ordered. The meal came in a timely manner. LOVED the grilled octopus, it was nice and soft. The pulled lamb was tender. The eggplant dip with the pita bread was a delight. The chips is just how I like them - crunchy on the outside and soft inside, with just the right amount of spice. And I'm no salad kinda guy BUT i finished the salad! Dessert was yummy. Coffee could have been a little bit stronger but I'm just picking at straws on that one. Only negative was that I nearly slipped when entering the toilet as floor was a little wet. Recommend this place to anyone. I saw family with thier kids and they were enjoying themselves too. Overall, its a great place to eat because of the food and the staff!!! See less
