I did hope to be writing a positive review, however there were so many clusters where this evening went wrong due to poor management.
I attended a friends birthday gathering of about 40 people. One of the attendees was elderly and uses a walker to assist. Despite parking in the disabled car park by the entrance, he was unable to gain access to the bowling green due to steps…. No biggy, we managed to assist him down the stairs and made do.
We arrived at the bar, to be greeted by what appeared to be a rather green crew on there first night out of RSA… all good, happy to see people learn.
I was greeted by a young gentleman yawning in my face (it was 5.30pm Friday)
Clearly a long day. He proceeded to incorrectly charge us and forgot drinks on our order. Again, no biggy…… happy to see people learn on the job.
That was the first round…. It got worse from there.
As a small business owner myself, if I had staff standing around chatting amongst themselves whilst the queue is growing longer out the door with patrons happy to spend there money ….. I don’t know who I’d sack first. The manager or the floor staff. An absolute shocker!
I then placed my dinner order, as they were clearly so busy after waiting 25 minutes for a drink.
I checked on my order at 30 minutes and was told it was on the way…. I checked again @ 50 minutes & asked for a refund.
Such a shame as our dish turned up as I walked out of the bar and was told it had been “sitting there for 40 minutes” … tonight was not my night to come undone by food poisoning.
I have heard people speak fondly of the RUC, I do hope this was an isolated incident… one I will not forget in a hurry & probably will not return. See less
