I can not recommended this hotel highly enough we came for our birthdays and we were treated like royalty. We were kindly given a room upgrade from the lovely Helena at the front desk. Great service, lovely rooms. They really go the extra mile for their guests. More than happy to recommend the suite we had in the Star Grand residences. Parking on site. Great views, good gym and pool. Comfortable bed. Only wish they provided a dedicated breakfast place. Otherwise outstanding. Thank you star 🌟. See less

Not sure what happened in the past few years but the minimum prices on tables have increased substantially. So much for $2 roulette on the field?? Whilst you can play the $1 electronic ones it doesn’t really add to any atmosphere, and is suited for one person, not groups. Perhaps if when the crown gets its licence back there may be some competition to bring prices down. Not sure who can afford to play a casual game or three of stud poker, roulette these days…. It priced us out. See less

Service is good. Food is good. But still missing a wow factor. Recommended dish: Zucchini Flower and Bread. The platter dessert is enough for 4 people, if you're not too hungry. But the Tiramisu is the biggest disappointment 😞 See less

I booked my mum and I a room at the Star Grand Residence for a few days and from the moment I entered to check in I was greeted and assisted by the lovely Pamela, who has gone above and beyond (multiple times) to make sure that our stay would be nothing short of amazing and memorable. It’s so nice to see someone providing exceptional customer service, especially during these difficult and challenging times. I’ve stayed here multiple times, room is perfection, location is central, everything is as wonderful as always but this time stands out the most because of the service. Thank you Pamela! See less

Star buffet was the highlight of our visit the seafood is absolutely amazing and fresh👍👍👍Everything from the start to finish especially Jeremie the front desk manager he was very helpful and even with the mask on i could picture the smile he had on his face and absolutely professional and exactly what customer services is all about. We will definitely be back soon and will highly recommend the star in terms of fine dining and stay in their hotels.👍👍👍 See less

My brother and I stayed at the star for the first time yesterday and was very welcomed by the sweetest front desk (Pamela). She was so helpful, sweet and very professional. She definitely made our stay even more enjoyable. The rooms are very clean and well made. Would come back for sure! See less

The room was very good with a lot of fancy gadgets. Staff were very friendly but unfortunately my wife become ill and instead of three nights we could only stay one night. We received a full refund for the two unused nights. Very good and no arguments. The one restaurant we used was also very good and staff very friendly. The Star also had a medic who examined my wife very quickly after being called. Very good service See less

Stayed at The Star Hotel and Residence. Check in staff are super friendly and informative. We got a 1 bedroom Pyrmont View with a study. The room is very very spacious, clean and elegant. During the day I had about 8 girlfriends come visit for some drinks before we headed out, the big island bench was perfect for that. We also had 2 bathroom, which took us by surprise as we thought there would be 1. The bed is soft but super comfy. The pillow was a little too puffy for me, but sleeping without one wasn't too bad either. We also went for night dip in the pool, the water was nice and warm for a cold summer night, so it was really pleasure. Worth the stay, will definitely be back if we ever want to do a overnight stay in the city again. See less

Taking into consideration low staff numbers, those working did a wonderful job. The staff were always polite, friendly and anything missed was quickly attended to. Well done to all! The room was fantastic, loved the harbour view from the 10th floor. Very memorable stay. See less

We booked a nice level 12 suite for a few days just after New Years 2022. The room was great but the service was terrible. Low staff numbers and generally well below the 5 star rating of the Hotel. I understand they were struggling with COvID but the workarounds deployed by the hotel were average. I wouldn’t book again at this hotel until the impacts of COvID are reduced or resolved. See less

I was pleasantly surprised with our stay here. I’ve stayed at several of the top hotels in Sydney and have been disappointed and I was very surprised with everything really. Starting with the rooms being modern, updated and the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. We had the king and double two room suite harbour view. The harbour view was gorgeous. The whole apartment and bathrooms were so nice. The pool was super warm and very big for everyone to fit in the warm section. Other heated pools are not as warm as this and it was so nice to enjoy the pool and not freeze for once. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. There is so much to do in the area and the whole vibe and location of the hotel was perfect. See less

We first stayed at the hotel a few years ago and were so impressed that we have been looking forward to going back ever since but it was a disappointing return. We were not able to check in at 3pm and were waiting with many other guests in the reception area for almost an hour. When our room was ready, the beds hadn't been made properly, and the coffee machine was covered in dust. This would not normally concern us but when we were unable to turn off any of the lights in the room or close the block-out blind, it became far more frustrating. We raised the issue with reception at midnight who sent up a pair of technicians to investigate. When they left at 1:40am, they had successfully switched off the lights (some requiring the removal of bulbs) but were unable to fix the blind due to larger system/network issues. The lack of a heavy curtain meant we had light streaming into the room at 5-6am for an unintended early wake-up after a very late night. We received wonderful service from housekeeping, reception, maintenance, and room service. But the lack of care from the hotel in following up what was a pretty unsatisfactory way to spend our second night made for a very final grim impression. We provided feedback directly to the hotel after checking out and they offered us a discounted return stay; to say we are not in a hurry to return would be an understatement. See less

This is a going to be a very mixed review. The first time we stay here we booked two rooms. We were unable to get into the second room until about 8pm and the first room was missing a TV remote. We asked for a remote and we didn’t get it until about an hour later. The second time we stayed here, the manager on duty gave both of the rooms a free upgrade. This was very nice of him. However the second room had a cockroach in it. The first room was a bit dirty too as there was rust in the shower and the cabinet was also a bit messy. Not sure how I feel about the overall experience both times. But the location is perfect and the beds were very comfortable. The manager on duty also saved this from being a terrible experience.
