We discovered this Fish & Chip shop on one of our long covid walks, although it is not our closest Fish & Chip shop we travel that bit further as it is worth it. The fish is always fresh, white fluffy and juicy, not dry, with a crispy light batter, YUM! I always ask for the potato cakes to be cooked longer as l like these to be crispy too and they are happy to do that. Hubby gets fried Dim Sims, he loves them and we sometimes get a Hotdog in batter which is yummy too. Chips are ok but we don't get them usually. I recently got fish & potato cakes for my eldery Mother, dropped them off, a suburb away, and got a text later from her saying, their fish & potato cakes were delicious. You can also phone your order in advance so it is ready to be picked up by the time you get there. See less

Really disappointing, just received my order with fish and chips for 2 but with no fish instead got x2 fish bites, this was worth $35. souvlaki disgusting, very oily packed with onion, which I'm pretty sure it was a whole onion, no flavour, very bland!!! chips would of been good if there was more salt... wont be ordering here again.. In the end uber said they will refund me.. See less

We ordered the Fish and Chips for Two through Ubereats and definitely will be ordering again! The hot and well cooked flakes, calamari, scallops and chips were just what we needed after disappointing previous fish and chip orders from Menulog. See less

Been craving fish & chips - devastated that Mermaids Fish & Chips is closed ATM due to the Corolla virus - see note - so hunting a temporary unless better than M F & C in the interim. Prices are reasonable, staff really efficient & organized, potato cakes really very nice, crunchy & cooked in literally moments but still good. Hamburgers & steak sandwich OK, better than other fish shops - except........ But quite ok in every aspect. NB. ( seriously - every Corona I've owned has been fantastic, sorry Toyota but I've not owned any Corolla's & I'm offended for the Corona's in my past, I've got a zoom zoom Mazda now) See less

Paid $35 for a family sized meal, the chips weren't even enough for one person. Called the owner up to let him know and his only answer was that I needed to pay more. Quite disappointed really. Would not recommend this place at all. See less

First time ordering from here. I ordered a couple of flakes potato cakes dim sims and Minimum Chips. To start off with the dim sims tasted amazing and I can officially say that tastes better than the South Melbourne Market dim sims! Potato cakes were pretty standard for a fish and chip shop. The flakes were actually quite tasty and not to oily. In addition to this this place also accept EFTPOS/paywave. I give this for stars for the customer service the convenience of EFTPOS and the quality of food. See less

Very friendly one man team guy and very easy to deal with even when i asked to change some of d things on d family pack. Batter for d fish was so crunchy n light but a bit under seasoned. Chips in my pack was a bit less than i get from other shops. The potato in d potato cakes were too thin and d calamari rings were over cooked. Dimsim was ok. Overall it was ok See less

I live in Taylors Lakes but drive down here most days. Decided to give this place a try and it blew me away. This is the best Fish and Chips I've ever had. The price is very cheap compared to other places. The chips and fish are crunchy and not soft like some places after being wrapped in the paper. I got some more the next day and drove home (17mins) and the food was still hot and crispy. HIDDEN GEM! AMAZING! If you live near by you must give this place a try! See less
