Food here is very hit and miss - two weeks ago on Sunday it was great but last night it wasn't very good.
The staff that took our order both times couldn't understand English very well, and this lead to mistakes with the orders. Last time I ordered black fungus and jellyfish salad, but they just brought out a plate of black fungus so I had to send it back and clarify that I wanted the one with Jellyfish. I ordered the same jellyfish salad last night, but what they brought me was different to what I ordered last time and no where near as nice - it was missing the soy and corriander. When I told the manager she said that last time they must have brought me the other jellyfish salad by mistake, but at least it was a mistake that resulted in them bringing me something nicer than what I ordered. Also, after the language barrier last time, I made sure I ordered very slowly and clearly last night, and still, when I asked for the jellyfish salad as an entree they didn't understand and brought it out as a main.
Last night I ordered jellyfish salad, san choy bow, honey chicken, hot and spicy pork spare ribs and beef in plum sauce. The honey chicken was undercooked - not crispy and the batter tasted doughey. The pork spare ribs were not spare ribs at all - they were the rib ends with no bone, lots of cartilage and not much meat. The beef in plumb sauce was actually battered beef marinated in some sort of plum sauce concentrate - there was no sauce on the plate at all and the marinade tasted way too strong. The nicest part of the whole meal was the san choy bow entree.
Another thing I didn't like was that their selection of wines by the glass is very limited. If you want a sparkling rose you have to get a whole bottle, which I found was a bit too much for just two people if you don't want to risk drink driving.
I doubt I'll ever be going back there again. See less
