An excellent place for authentic Pakistani BBQ food. Nice place with good ambience and the original Pakistani music in the background makes you feel at home. To top it all is a very friendly and a courteous staff. Murtaza and Abbas are doing a really good job. Wish them best with their venture. See less

Lovely owners, they do everything themselves... their chicken karahi is the best... and paratha too is good. Daal mash was a little dry and wouldn't recommend their tea. Better to spend those 4.5 dollars on some other coffee Over all good food... See less

Spotted it as we drove past, and reserved that night. Amazing food - the whole family loved it, both the kebabs and the curries. The family was planning their next visit even before we had left the restaurant ! We found a gem in the suburbs. See less

Our experience was incredible. Fantastic flavours, good portion sizes, a cosy, homely ambiance, and a wonderful success story of a Pakistani family who took a leap of faith and an initiative and is now serving, in my opinion, the best Pakistani food not only in Sydney, but better than anything we have ever had even in Pakistan. We ordered the Kebab karrhaai, the BBQ platter (Bihaari Kebab, Malaai Boti, boneless Chicken Tikka), Chicken Tikka (traditional on the bone) the Chicken Karrhaai, Naan, Paraatha, Chai and Kulfa. There was just something different about everything. In the best way possible. Each individual item was marinated and cooked to perfection. Bursting with flavour and to my pleasant surprise, spiced to perfection as well (quite a rarity outside Pakistan, because the spice levels and therefore flavour is always compromised in order to cater to local tastebuds). The fact that we were ready to go back to the restaurant the very next day, and the only reason we didn’t was because it was closed (Sunday) is probably the biggest and most genuine compliment we could give. We will definitely be back at Zakinsa for more iA. Wishing the family and their incredible little initiative to bring the best of Pakistani flavours to Australia all the success in the world! Dined at Zakinsa a Pakistani restaurant opened in Chatswood. Kulfi, kebab karahi and BBQ were good. A bit over priced tho. All the best to the owners. Great initiative. See less

Our search for Pakistani establishments in Sydney which accept a credit card without strings, serve good food and have a competent staff so far has concluded with limited results. Having read a social media post on Zakinsa, we were excited to give this establishment a try. We had high hopes but they soon morphed into disappointment when we had dinner there on April 10 2021. From a location and ambiance perspective, near perfection. Situated at a chiq and secluded site in Chatswood, the restaurant exudes an unexpected homely vibe which makes one reminisce times in Pakistan. As soon as you enter the place and hear Coke Studio, one goes, “I’m home”. One might consider the inside a bit too cozy for comfort and the air-conditioning could be optimised, but we attributed these factors to bad weather. The two of us ordered the following: - Shikanjbeen (Spicy Lemonade). Sour for my taste but my partner loved it. 7/10. Hot Chips: Standard fries with good quantity. 8/10. Naan/Paratha: Standard frozen naan and paratha. 7/10 Chicken Malai Boti: Stunning from a presentation aspect and adequate in taste. 7/10. Brain Masala: The weirdest brain masala I have ever had. Something which one can safely term as distasteful. The spices were just not cooked properly (”theek se bhuna naheen”, as we say in Urdu). The dish also gave out a strange smell which stuck to my hands for a few hours. We even noted a big green achaar quality uncut chilli in it. I was so hungry that I ate some of it and decided to take the rest home. A mental note was made to give the management feedback in the end but it had to be reserved in view of what happened later. 2/10 Chai (Item # 8): Just like the brain masala, this kind of chai is something that we had for the first time. It was bitter and greasy and we were at a loss on how someone can get this simple item wrong. When we called upon the staff to ask them what blend it was and why it was like that, they said, “this is how we drink it. Most people find it bitter, which is why they add sugar”. That made us discard any feedback that we had for them while paying the bill. 2/10 Experience of bill payment: The total bill for the aforementioned came out to be 56.98. When we were on our way back however, we felt that the bill was more than the price of items stated on the menu provided. We cross referenced the picture we had of the menu and indeed it was. We were overcharged around 5 dollars. We called the restaurant and a lady picked up. When we first explained what had happened, we were confused for an Uber order and were told that the prices are adjusted for Uber deliveries. After a few exchanges however, it was admitted that the menu provided to us in the restaurant was an older version. We were told that we can share our account details and the difference would be transferred to us. We decided not to go through with it. Overall experience: We feel that we paid extra for mediocre food. With cheaper and better quality alternatives out there, this was a miss. The establishment has potential but one may surmise that it will take some time to be realised. Presenting customers with an old menu reflects poorly on the overall establishment. Overall rating --> 4/10. See less

Zakinsa offers an amazing array of authentic Pakistani bbq dishes along with some great regional delicacies. The chicken tikka (authentic) and malai chicken is a must try. Also checkout khat a khat and brain masala which are traditional dishes not found in most other Pakistani restaurants. Overall the food is immaculate and full of flavor. The ambience is pleasant cafe style with both indoor and outdoor seating. Service was excellent. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to try authentic Pakistani food in Sydney. See less
