Excellent food, cooked fast and and very fresh quality ingredients! The octopus balls (takoyaki) is my favourite dish but I have never ordered something from here I did not like. Friendly staff, all round great service and a dazzling array of tasty treats to select from. My only regret is that there is not a Bento Tei in Belconnen area where I live so I can only get it when I am at work in Gungahlin. Highly recommend you give this place a go instead of one of the plethora of cheap fast food franchise chains that consist of the majority food choices in Gungahlin. Your palate will thank you! I have dined in once and had takeaway another time. Both times the bento boxes have been 10/10. The portion sizes are quite big and worth the price. Also has good variety and tastes really good. The people working were also very friendly and welcoming. Best bento boxes in Canberra that I’ve tried. See less

Fast delivery. Underwhelming Karaage chicken ramen but at least it's cheap. Lots of chicken. Noodles kinda soggy. The broth is just perfectly seasoned, not under or oversalted. Flavours are not really complex. Kinda like Maggi noodles with cup a soup but in Ramen form See less

My wife and kids have eaten at Bento Tei Gungahlin a number of times but for some strange reason, I’d missed out until recently! I truly enjoyed our family meal here. I had a Japanese Curry with Chicken Karaage, a perfectly seasoned fried chicken, for myself, a beef and hamburger bento box for my wife, two chicken bowls for my teens and a spicy Japanese-style chicken schnitzel to share. The place is admittedly small but full of character, from the lovingly painted wall art to the Spirited Away cartoon playing on the television. Would absolutely go back! See less

The food at this restaurant was very good and the staff are nice and they served the food very quickly. My only complaint is the lack of cutlery. I don’t know how to use chopsticks and all they hard was a plastic fork, no knives to cut it up either. Aside from that I can’t fault this place. Very good. See less

First time dining here on a Friday around 5pm with a friend. Restaurant was very quiet, we were the only customers. Ordered ramen with a side of vege pancake and chicken karage. Also ordered a snack of 6 gyoza. Chicken karage was cold and tough. Ramen was underwhelming. Gyoza was terrible, somehow the gyoza skin was still doughy and floury tasting and very little pork filling. Only the vege pancake was good, flavoursome and fresh. We were hungry so ate everything, but only for sustenance with close to zero enjoyment. Maybe an inexperienced cook? Very unimpressed. See less

I loved their food. Today, I tried their chicken katsu donburi and it's absolutely delicious. They are always generous with their food for its price. Great service and the staff are nice. Good thing they have tables outside so I can bring my dog with me to dine in. See less

Very nice staff members. They cater easily to picky eater requests. Great Japanese food choices and delicous food. The Ramen is very tasty and portion size is perfect! Udon is also a great dish. Also chicken katsu is a nice dish. The kids menu is deightful with rice in the shape of a bear. I really enjoy that the have anime playing on the tv so you can watch it as you eat. Comfy chairs! ☺ Highly recommend! I would say best place to eat! Great value. You can choose from many delivery apps to order Bento Tei. I would like them to be able to deliver to most of the belconnen area but I know that's a bit far for orders maybe Lol 😜 nice atmosphere See less

Update Still great, still ordering on and off when we’re seeking something lighter, my favourite the Salmon Don •••••••••••••••••••••••••••• We Love Bento Tei, a great addition to the neighbourhood and we’ve been ordering for months now! Mostly on delievery apps because yup we’re lazy, but it’s worth delievery fee hands down. Partner always gets a version of the bento box, the signature is his most common and favoured one. For me I foot between having ramen and udon dishes with the pork dumpling udon being my favourite. Love your store and your work and looking forward to continuing to eat many more delicious meals in the future :) See less

Good -Good Japanese food. -Nice & clean. -Friendly staff. -All manu been changed in 2018. -Kids manu is the best!!! -They open between 1100 and 2100. But there is meal break between 1600 and 1700 which is PRETTY FLEXIBLE!!! Bad. -It was 5 stars for me before. But they changed all menus in 2018. I am feeling that price went up and less portion. But most of menus have more options to choose which it may cause you extra pay. -Small inside. Very busy between 1200 and 1300. See less

Tasty japanese food and good value. The staff is nice and the decoration is lovely. I love the Japanese animation that playing on TV in the restaurant. I recommend chicken katsu donburi and yakiniku beef. See less
