The Good: food, wine, staff The Bad: limited Veg options and bland salad with the steak frites,, $8 bread, The Ugly:that gas fire place.. Recommended and while the menu is a little predicable there was something for everyone. Prices were very good apart from over prices bread (complimentary bread and put rest up a $ or 2). As the name suggests, this is not a fancy restaurant. It delivers very well prepared food at reasonable prices. The dishes are classic, solid, old school French, but the lack of any specials meant we were left with a list of somewhat uninspiring choices. Having said that, except for the cheese souffle, which was bland and dry and without the promised sauce, the dishes that came out were all delicious. The wines, too, were excellent. For us, the service was the big problem. Some of it was switched on, but big points off for not ensuring everyone's first drinks came out around the same time, and for making us search for someone who could advise us on the wine. We also had to follow up on an undelivered main (which then came out promptly) and to almost beg them to take our coffee order when it was clear they just wanted to turn off the machine even when they still had several tables of customers. Also, it's not a good look to have your staff slouching around on their breaks at tables right next to your customers. 7/10 See less

Fantastic food, absolutely delicious and deserving of 5 stars, unfortunately that’s all this place has, beautiful food, Service is something you can’t complain about because to complain about something it has to be existent in the first place, don’t ask why there is only one Australian Wine on their very small Wine list because you’re going to be told “this is a French Restaurant and that’s how it is”, well, good luck to them but l will NEVER come back. I loved the experience and customer service of this restaurant. We were a group of 4 friends and ordered entrees, mains and desserts. Everything was exquisite and we really appreciated the wine recommendations from one of the owners. Definitively, 5 out of 5, can’t wait to come back! See less

Make sure to leave room for dessert! We had an amazing meal here last night. We were a group of 7 so we shared a few starters and mains and then chose our own desserts. All absolutely delicious but the stand outs for me were the chicken liver parfait, boeuf bourguignon and steak frites. Best French food out of France. Great wine selection and then desserts to die for. Creme brûlée, soufflé and mousse. All winners. C’etait magnifique!! See less

Undercooked the soufflé which gave me food poisoning, when told they denied it was their food and implied I was wrong. Everything else was delicious and the hosts and staff were very nice, even when the kitchen was very busy and behind Edit the response to management: Your staff served a petri dish of incubated soufflé batter, which resulted in a patron getting sick, and it doesn't matter what really caused it because it was something at the restaurant at the end of the day. I have no reason to be lying about this, nor does it feel nice to be dismissed. You still refuse to accept responsibility and to say you feel sorry about my condition and then go on to dismiss where I got sick from is a bit of a cop out. See less

Read about this new French bistro (the chef being from ex-Cliche restaurant) and hadn't had French for a while, so decided to make a visit for lunch. We ordered the entree sharing plate, escargot, scallops and passionfruit souffle for dessert. The food wasn't anything fancy, just really well done. We'll probably be back to try the mai s next time. Great food, great service. If you're a fan of French cuisine this place is on point. We had 3 entrees, a main with a side and two desserts. Everything was excellent. Outdoor seating too if you want to enjoy the ambience of King William Road. Not overpriced either. We will go back for sure. See less
