The food was decent, although their service was where they fell through. Upon arrival, we found the front desk to be unstaffed and had to wait a full 5 minutes before someone eventually came from the back to seat us. When my partner and I asked the waitress what her recommendations were, she immediately gave us a frustrated and annoyed look before proceeding to quickly name 3-4 dishes without even pointing to where they were on the menu, let alone explain what the dishes contained. Another waitress asked us if we were ready for our mains as though we weren't waiting 15 minutes after we finished our entrees. To top it all off, the eftpos machine was making a constant beeping sound for the full 1.5 hours we were there for. Legend has it, it still beeps to this day... See less

Just ordered 5 curry’s, 4 rices 5 naan breads and one samosa for takeaway and the food came to $219 bucks and on the website it says $17 bucks for each curry but when we called we were told a takeaway butter chicken is nearly $29 bucks which is ludicrous pricing for takeaway especially! Been going for years and all of a sudden the prices make an eye fillet steak seem Cheap such a joke please kindly close down or stop ripping people off! See less

Ordered dinner for tonight, and when we got home, realised that we had been overcharged $60 above what was advertised online. Called the restaurant and they said that they had changed the prices but not updated their prices on the website yet. $30 for a normal sized curry is just ridiculous, and false advertising when they say they’re $17 on the website. Will not be coming back, no transparency, and no offer of a solution when we called back and asked what had happened. See less

UPDATE: As per the owners message I sent them an email letting them I still have the glass shard and I can answer any questions. NO RESPONSE WAS EVER RECEIVED.... BEWARE! We ordered from this restaurant last night and were shocked to find a glass shard in the food, while I found this piece I am worried we have of ingested other pieces unseen. I have posted photos to this review as reference, as you can see by the colour it would appear it was cooked into the food. Very disappointed to visit this restaurant. We were a table of 11 , our order was taken after 15 mins of waiting. Kids meals came out after 45 mins of that and we were told the rest of the order was not even put through by the staff. Owners friends came after us and was served straight away and there food order came before us while we waited endlessly. We waited for our entrees for 1hr 15 min, at last we had to leave the restaurant at 9pm to another restaurant across the road . The staff was untrained & provided poor service. Will not recommend this restaurant to anyone. See less

Ordered several times from Chutney Bar - we order mild every time and it's hit and miss. Too often we can't eat the food as it's too spicy. We have eaten Indian elsewhere a lot over the years and have not had this issue before. Will not waste our money ordering again as the food usually ends up in the bin despite the flavour being nice. Only eat here if you like spicy food. See less

Best curry on the Peninsula! Lots of delicious meat and gravy, would recommend! There can be long wait times (90 mins+) on some weekends and public holidays but that's understandable. Order early and enjoy 😊 See less

Best and authentic curries. I am travelling from the city to Mornington just to eat their Indian food. Service is slow but it's worth the wait. They need more staff to wait at the tables for prompt service. See less

The tapas/grill menu was good .Special mention of the barra kebab which was the star of the show. Wish the cocktail menu had more options. Overall service and food was good . Recommend. See less

Food and service were excellent. Good variety with the share plates, and also a cheaper option with the curry meals. Tandoor Lamb cutlets were very good and the Butter sauce was the best I've tasted. See less

Great little joint in the heart of Mornington, service could be improved here as was told to just sit anywhere instead of being ushered to a seat. Ordered the chicken sliders which where amazing as they were basically smalls bit size burgers with a kick of tandoor flavour. Also loved the cheese naan as well , however could definitely improve on the flavour of the chicken vindaloo as it tasted like a store bought sauce mix and the chicken was overcooked. Prices were slightly above average but understandable for the location all in all a good experience. See less

Had the beef vindaloo and the wife had the butter chicken. Our meals were delish very very tasty. I ordered hot and whilst it was no means hot by my standard it was so flavoursome it didn't matter. We had a lamb skewer for entree that was also really nice. Service was great, we didn't have to wait long at all to get served or have our starters and then we were asked if we were ready for our mains without forcing us through meals. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal, we will be back no doubt about it. See less
