My first time coming here and let me tell you everything about this place is perfect. From the service to bringing out the food and the amount of smiles from both restaurant and customers. I'm so glad I came here and would love to come here again in future. Thank you so much Happyland. See less

Don’t order takeaway. We are regular customers and tonight after 11/2 hours our order wasn’t ready. We were left standing outside the restaurant being ignored even after 4 queries. Finally walked off and they didn’t care. Won’t we much business left if they treat all customers like this. Disgusting, locals who won’t be returning!!!!!!!! See less

The door glides open as the smell of the fragrant rice floods through the room. I breath in the fragrance as the pleasant waiter leads me to my seat and my body melts as I exhale. The dim lights flow towards the vertical windows surrounding the restaurant and bounce back to fill life into the happy customers. The waiters are doves. They are people’s saviours with smiles as bright as the flaming sun, bringing comfortable food for all to share. They bring the food, that lives in warm, circular pieces of art. The crunch of the vegetables, the softness of the meat and the creaminess of the rice all accumulate to a heaven of flavours. Happyland is a grand palace where there are celebrations, luxury service and the warm sun and coolness of the wind’s breeze that lands through the long, vertical windows. The dessert brings out a sweet balance of flavours that build up to a party of flavours in my mouth. Happyland awakens the senses and brings alive one’s passion for food. It is the ideal place for comfortable and luxury food that never fails to please. It is my getaway. It is my home away from home. It is Happyland See less

This was our first time at HappyLand and wow, what a pleasant surprise! The atmosphere was very warm and friendly and service very good. Food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious and fresh. Thumbs up to the owner and staff - this is North Turramurra’s hidden gem 🙂 See less

This is the first time I ordered from Happyland and it lives upto its name as I was extremely happy. Food was great, I ordered a large special fried rice, stir fried vegetables, Mongolian lamb, sweet and sour pork and the billykee chicken. Food was fresh and delicious and price is very reasonable. Very disappointed. The food is excellent, but they are so busy making takeaway orders, the restaurant is all left waiting ages for their food. 40 minutes before we even got an entree. No atmosphere. They should close the restaurant and just focus on takeaways. See less

Fantastic local restaurant. Always a succulent Chinese meal, friendly service and reasonable prices. Generally quite busy most nights of the week packed with locals adds to the dining atmosphere. Probably the only good traditional family run Chinese left on the upper north shore these days too. See less

This is a typical old-fashioned family-owned suburban Chinese restaurant. They only have some 7 or 8 tables, so it's a good idea to book. The service is friendly and the food is great. They do takeaway too. Street parking is available, and there is also a carpark behind the cluster of shops. Recommended. See less

Positively the worst experience I have had eating out in Sydney. Service was simply appalling and the food that we did get was lukewarm and tasteless. Walked out after being given rice but no mains. Owner made half-hearted apology. See less

Just left "Happyland" extremely dissatisfied. Waited over an hour to receive two dishes out of the four ordered. One of which we had seen sitting out on the kitchen bench for fifteen minutes before being given to us. When asking for a new fried rice the lady who was obviously in over her head lied that it was fresh from the pan, even though we had been watching it sit there, waiting to see if they would give it to us. The Chow Mein they gave us was lukewarm at best and as we continued to enquire about about the status of our order we were told it was being cooked and would be out within minutes. We were told this multiple times and it got to the point where the young boy who was floor staff forgot that he had already told us our food would be in front of us within a minute, which he told us again 20 minutes later. Ended up walking out without paying and the lady at the door just said that they were busy doing the take away orders first. They only had one chef cooking and were cooking only the takeaway orders coming in first (which the woman running the orders out admitted to me) Thus leaving a room full of people whose meals that they had been waiting for well over an hour for having their orders continuously pushed to the back of a queue. Absolutely discraceful customer service. I'm appalled and will not be returning. They clearly could not keep up with the demand. When we walked out they didn't even try to stop us and still hadn't cooked our food after 90 mins of waiting for the final two dishes. Do not recommend at all. Poor to mediocre cold food at best and little to none customer service. See less
