We had a wonderful Dinner there last Saturday. Food is fabulous, the restaurant is family run, they’re wonderful people. We loved it. Definitely should be on the go to list when in Canberra. See less

What a night of disappointment. Waiter looking after our table seemed highly intoxicated and forgot to bring our order or maybe put the order through. His attitude made the whole table uncomfortable and so I decided to ask the manager for a different table to avoid ruining the rest of the night. I was welcomed with a terrible and hostile attitude. This manager was highly unprofessional and made us again feel uncomfortable by telling off the same waiter whom we were having a problem with in front of the entire restaurant. In terms of food, the pasta dishes were outstanding. However, To top it up one of the orders came without olives and once we asked for it to be added, the olives were simply put on top of the pizza instead of getting properly baked together with ingredients/pizza. While the waiter realised we were having an unpleasant experience and came around to try improve things, we did not enjoyed ourselves and felt uncomfortable throughout the whole night. Strongly recommend going elsewhere. Premium prices for a Below average service and experience. See less

Best pasta my partner and I have had. Just packed with flavour and cooked so well. The zucchini flower and beef carpaccio was okay, but the pastas were the knockout. Definitely recommend the pork sausage pasta! See less

This has been my favourite Italian restaurant for many years. I went last week for the first time in 3 years, and the quality has not dropped at all I'm pleased to report. This is pretty much mandatory visit if you're in Canberra. See less

I cannot rate Italian and sons more highly even if I could! The waiter was absolutely hilarious and certainly made us laugh, and their martini's are great! So many options for drinks I nearly couldn't choose! I will definitely be going back. See less

We elected not to go for the tasting menu as we were in a group of 4 and wanted some variety in our dishes so we could share. We had a good variety of some of the finest Italian food including the following entree: Fremantle Sardine 'in short and chickpea panelled, Grilled octopus, Wood baked eggplant, Zucchini flower. For the pasta we had: Asparagus, leek & ricotta agnolotti, Squid ink tagliolini, and Rigatoni. We also had Jack's Creek Striploin with insalata caprese and that was delicious. I rate the food, though it took a long time to come out and the service wasn't that great, especially when we told them we ordered the zucchini flower and the waiter denied taking the order and made some other excuses. There's a lot of tables in a small space and it is likely they couldn't keep up production for a near full capacity restaurant as I looked around and no one had any food for more than half an hour. Yet another fantastic meal from Pasquale and his Team. This is one of my go to restaurants when I want to show off how far Canberra has come in the field of fantastic, world class food. My suggestion is the Rigatoni... simply amazing! A lovely place for the family to visit or for a more intimate meal for two. I've done both and have never been disappointed. Thanks again guys... This is fine dining at it’s best. We were in Canberra with family and decided to spoil ourselves. I recommend the focaccia with ricotta and honey. What a start 👍 Followed by best braised Octopus I have eaten 🙏 I then ordered the snapper which was jam packed with flavour 👏 For desert I recommend the Tiramisu with a Machiato 🙏🙏🍷🍷 We washed this down-with 2 bottles for Prosecco heavenly 👏👏 See less

We had a lovely meal here and would absolutely return again. We started with the focaccia with whipped Ricotta and chestnut honey, which was light and delicious, and a serving of olives. Main course was pasta. I had spinach pappardelle, with lamb ragu, and the lamb was so tender. My partner had conchiglie with pork sausage, chard & pancetta, and greatly enjoyed it. Then tiramisu and a chocolate hazelnut and salted caramel dessert with meringue and poached pear. The service was excellent and I would absolutely return again. Simple, classic, and good tasting Italian food. The tiramisu is absolutely to die for. The only downside I have to mention is that the meals are quite small and I was still hungry after the entree, main and dessert. Otherwise the space itself is dim and moody (in a good way!) and the staff were nice and knowledgeable about wine. See less

It was delicious! The eggplant parmigiana was to die for! You should definitely order it. Best dish of the night. My fiance had the cuttlefish, which was tasty also. For mains I had spinach pasta ragu. It was lovely. Generous portion, heavy hearty flavour. We had green beans with our meal and I recommend you do this also. He had the rabbit pasta, which was plain tasting. He said it was good but not great, so perhaps order something else. Dessert was also delicious, you can't go wrong there. See less

Went for the three course meal. For the entrees the cuttlefish was the best for sure, with the zucchini fries. Mains was steak and seafood pasta. The steak was seriously amazing. Didn’t really manage to make a dent in the dessert as was too full. Espresso martini was below average, tasted burnt and watery. The interior was stunning and the service was really good See less

I'm a bit surprised at some the reviews here - our meal was very good , and good value for the quality. The service was excellent, and we were fed in pretty quick time on a night when the restaurant was packed and rapidly turning over tables for late arrivals. There's only ever been a relatively limited range of meals on the menu here, and the $85 set price dinner is good value for any similar quality restaurant. One thing that's never changed here is the ethos - they don't do fancy share plates of spectacularly plated experimental food - just very well cooked Italian classics. The fish of the day was superb, but I thought the ragu could have done with something extra. The focaccia was excellent, as was the eggplant parmigiana and the cannoli. However the flourless chocolate cake turned out to be tiny sliver of a magnificent cake, hidden under a pile of unnecessary extras. See less

Fantastic food and awesome atmosphere. A lot of reviews note the serving sizes are small which i agree with, so we ordered some bread and olives upfront, and left very satisfied. Great service. Steak and silverbeet main delicious. Tiramisu was one if the best have ever had. Looking forward to going back. See less
