La Glanz Restaurant in Noble Park Visited on 9/7/2021 The name is definitely not Malay, and therefore my wife and I nearly walked away until we saw some men who looked like Malays were outside chatting. I am still wondering whether it is a Cafe or restaurant. The stunning red highlight wall and ambience are OK to make it a restaurant, but the way the food is served very much like a hawker stall or warung in Malaysia. The boss lady and staff are friendly, the display of food in baine marie is passable, the curries and sambal taste good. The positives end here. The price is higher than comparable restaurants / cafes I have been to. When the food is brought to the table, I am not very impressed by the presentation. Everything, two meats and one vegetable with rice, an egg, sambal, and ikan bilis, buries the poor coconut rice completely. The green plate plate is too small, and the generous gravies makes it difficult to identify the the different components and flavours. To remedy this, a bigger oval shape plate, which probably costs a dollar two more, will improve the presentation and change my perception. The beef and egg plant pieces are cut too small, and the redang beef can be cooked to a bit more tender. I have no more room for the kuihs. They are not made inhouse, but from an external supplier. In short, the quality and presentation are very much like "backhome" cafe or food court. However, on the positive note, the various curries and gravies are flavoursome, and the service is good. Love the food here. Satay is great. Nasi Goreng kampung is really good. It has really a Malaysian feel when you eat there. Like they say.... you eat where the locals eat. You won't be disappointed... food is not modified or masks with lots of salt. Nasi lemak with choices of add on.... you are just spoilt with nice authentic food. See less

The owner and staff were so friendly! Their tea was really nice. I ordered beef rendeng with tom yum soup and staff gave me chicken dish to try lol so lovely. The food came in big potion and big enough to divide into two meals. Love their shop vibe so much. See less

Where you need to taste home. The go to place for local Malaysian, Malay food. Recommended. Short walk from the train station, so you're covered if you don't drive. See less

As close as it can get to the taste of food back in Malaysia. Love the vibrant flavours. Would definitely go back. You can either order from the menu or choose from the available ready food behind the counter. Amazing beef and chicken satay. Wide range of ready sweets sitting at the counter. See less

Nice option for malay food but it is expensive for the food portion. Wasn't feeling full and we have to top up with more orders and side menu. Would be great if portion can be more See less

What a hidden gem! Authentic food that transports you back to the streets of Malaysia, enjoying food by the roadside. There's a bain marie with lots of options including the stalwarts like rendang, curry chicken, tempeh and veggies in coconut sauce (lodeh). There's also a menu if you want noodles or fried rice. Teh tarik (milk tea) is worth a try. Don't forget to take away myriad of snacks by the counter including satay, curry puffs, etc. The proprietors are friendly and service is efficient. A great pit stop to fill yourself up on Malay delights! See less

There is one of the few authentic Malay restaurants in Noble Park which has been highly recommended by netizens and Malaysian foodies in Melbourne. On the way back from work with the traffic forecast bad on my GPS, I decided to take a detour and get my dinner. Feeling too hungry, I went overboard with 4 dishes, sotong; ayam masak merah; taugheh and sayur campur. Excellent taste! Back there again recently and added more food photos below. See less

I’ll let the pictures do the talking. But for a born and bred Malaysian living away from home, a taste of home is sometimes more precious than you realise. In a time of COVID where international travel has been restricted, La Glamz Cafe hit all the right spots and served up all the flavours to take away that sense of homesickness away. It’s hard to fully describe the experience, but if you just close your eyes and take your first bite - you’re taken straight home to your favourite childhood mamak. It even comes complete with old school Malaysian punk rock band tunes from the late 90’s early 00’s to make it all come together. See less

The place is popular with their cake or "kueh" and friendly staff. The mixed rice with vegetables/meat portion were small and hence seems pricey. See less

You know the food is authentically Malay Malaysian when everyone is chatting with one another in Malay, and referring to one another as “‘bang” or “‘kak “. Worth the 240 km round trip from home! See less

If you are looking for a Malaysian hawker centre meal experience 5/5 Stars. Traditional Malaysian dishes served from the Bain Marie even on to the plastic plates just like you would get in Malaysia. I like very hot food so I was a little disappointed with the meal I had. Teh tarik was nice my wife had a Cincau ( black jelly drink ). She said just ok. See less
