Really good food, especially the deserts. The only addition would be to clearly label on the menu what is dairy free and what can be made dairy free. The staff were helpful to assist working this out and accommodating us. See less

Keen to check the old pub out after it had been renovated, very nice! We had Sunday night dinner, relatively busy. We ordered southern fried chicken burgers (pity our mains came out straight after our entree). BmIved had better but burgers were good, chips not so, almost like they needed an extra cook. Would visit again though. See less

Was part of a group on a girl’s night out. Very spacious setting, not overly noisy, with a relaxed ambience and relaxing decor. Staff were helpful if called on, but not overly attentive, which is not always a bad thing. I selected the Mexican bowl, one of the best choices I’ve made in years. Delicious and filling, some of the other girls wished they’d ordered the same. Everyone of our group was pleased with their choice of main course. I recommend The Tower, would definitely return. Prices were reasonable too. See less

Ordered a Chicken Schnitzel, came out barely warm and the chips tasted like they had been sitting around for 20 minutes barely warm. Salad less than average and about a mouthful. Won’t be back and wouldn’t recommend. See less

As a local resident I was hoping the Tower Hotel would be good for a weeknight dinner but it was absolutely poor. I won’t ever set foot in here again. We ordered an entree of Mac and cheese bites, mains of the chicken florentine and also asked for a side of chips for our daughter. We asked for the chips to come out with the entree. We waited for the Mac and cheese for about 25 minutes despite there only being about 4 tables in the restaurant being occupied. The chips didn’t come out though. We then waited a further 30 minutes for the chicken to come out and when it finally did, the mash was cold and hard (as if it had just come from the fridge) and the sauce on top was cold too. The chicken was just warm (enough to make the mash directly under it luke warm), but we didn’t want to risk our health given how cold the majority of the elements on the plate were. The chips didn’t come either. We told the waitress that the mash and sauce was cold on both of our plates and we didn’t get the chips we ordered. She offered us some drinks, however after sitting there for well over an hour we decided to leave and not waste any more time. I think this is the problem with a place that hires staff who are underage (we couldn’t even order drinks with our meals because the waitress told us she was underage and couldn’t take our order) and doesn’t care about looking after customers. There is no other way to describe our experience other than absolutely poor. Never again. See less

Had massive cravings for some pub grub and thought we would get out of our comfort zone and try a different pub that we haven’t been to before, instead of revisiting the same ones that we go to! Tower Hotel is a place that we drive past often, and have been meaning to try it since the revamp. The night we visited, we were seated in the beer garden because the main restaurant was at capacity. We opted for Garlic Bread & Haloumi Fries w/ Aioli for starters and Slow Roasted Angus Porterhouse, the Warm Salmon Salad & a couple of beers to wash it down. Service was subpar to begin with as we were served 1 beer out of the 2 with our entrees. However, having eaten the garlic bread and haloumi fries we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. How wrong we were, all that followed was disappointment… We waited a long, long time for our mains and still no second beer. When the mains finally arrived, we asked about the missing beer but staff were clueless and had to reconfirm our order with us. No cutlery was provided with our meals, so when I went up to the bar to ask for some, the waitress told me to “just grab whatever you want”, meaning I had to reach over the bar countertop to grab it… The steak was cooked medium-rare as requested but it was extremely gristly and not great quality. The bread roll that accompanied the steak was stale and chips were undercooked - pretty sure we ate raw potato at some point. The warm salmon salad was no better. The salmon within the salad was cooked well, but it was drenched with dill aioli, making the dish super sickening - especially since the salad consisted of a handful of spinach, about 10 chickpeas, a whole lotta raw Spanish onion and no avocado?! Realising the missing avocado (that was meant to be in it), I went up to the bar but nobody was there (waited around for 5 minutes). I then walked around the to main restaurant to ask about the missing avocado, only to be told: “it is diced up in there, you just can’t see it” and then they decided to generously give us more avocado - 1/4 of a blackened avocado. How generous. $100 later and a whole lot of calories wasted on a horrible meal. Disappointing. See less

Absolutely horrible and unprofessional service at this venue. I booked the Alehouse for a 21/22nd. Due to covid I decided to have an all-out 22nd birthday celebration. I initially met with a functions manager Cherie who stated she would forward me a formalised quote and details to officially book in the event. I never received an email and had to enquire again via email and received a reply from functions manager Cooper who was helpful. I met with Cooper and was happy with his friendly demeanour and willingness to work with us to plan the event. I had ordered a custom cake made by Heidelberg cakes that cost me 253 dollars which included a custom cake topper that I paid $20 for. I had ordered this cake before finalising the venue as it was the only thing I was very certain of. On the night of the event, the functions manager Cherie was present, at 8:15 she approached me to discuss cake-cutting at 9pm. She explained the cake would be brought out at 8:30 to take photos and do the cake-cutting and would then be taken to the kitchen to be cut and distributed. At 9:15 my guests noticed that the cake was being distributed to all the guests and asked me why I was not cutting the cake. I immediately approached the bartender who was not able to help me. I went to the bar at the back of the venue and spoke with someone called Sebastien who was also not able to explain what had happened or why. He said he would go to the kitchen to see if a remaining piece of my cake could be brought out for me cut… i explained I just did not understand what happened as I had recently discussed with Cherie what the plan was for the cake. I have attached photos of the sad mess that was brought out to me in front of my 50 guests… deeply upsetting and so disappointing. I live locally and believe in trusting local businesses especially during such troubling times for many. I trusted the tower hotel to host the 21st that I couldn’t previously have only to have experienced this mess. At the end of night I was not given any compensation in what I was paying, Sebastien stated that I was required to pay the full amount despite what had happened with no empathy or understanding towards me other than to say “We aren’t sure what happened but there was some miscommunication about the cake”. He explained that all they could do was take the 50 dollar cake cutting fee off the bill. I emailed the venue and explained my frustration and requested an explanation of how this type of error could occur. No one has been able to explain this situation apart from saying “we don’t know what happened”. I demanded a full refund of the price that I paid for the cake, $253 for the cake + cake topper. After 1 month of back and forth emails and chasing down a copy of the invoice from the cake store, today I went in to receive a full refund, only to receive $233 as apparently the cake topper doesn’t count. Honestly what a joke of a venue and the staff clearly have no empathy or understanding towards their customers. I will never visit this local venue again and if you are considering hosting an event here, I would urge you to go elsewhere. No amount of money can make up for a mistake of this gravity, but when no one is able to explain how this mistake occurred this is only more frustrating for the customer. I have lost so much respect for this venue and the staff. I don’t think it was too much to ask for a full refund of the cake and an explanation of what occurred. This doesn’t make up for even 1% of the disappointment I experienced. See less

We love it every time we go to the Tower. Plenty of space great menu and drinks options, bit more formal seating as well as more casual, as well as a kids cinema and wonderful staff make the Tower Hotel a great venue. The food is always great, and there I a great cellar onsite for takeaway wines. See less
